Be it onscreen or in real life, when Hrithik Roshan appears, girls go weak on their knees and boys try to notice every small detail about his style. The green eyed boy became a superstar over night with his debut film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and since then, he has been consistently climbing the ladder of success. He rocked the year 2006 with two superhit films Krrish and Dhoom 2. Both the films have proved that Hrithik is a powerhouse of talent. With Krrish, Hrithik became the first onscreen Indian superhero and has become the favourite actor among children and Dhoom 2 has made him a god of style. So, what would you say to a person who fails to recognize Hrithik Roshan even when Hrithik is sitting and talking with that person?
Shocked? Well, an incident like this happened with Hrithik once when he was in London. He took a cab in the city and on the way struck a conversation with the driver. To his horror, Hrithik realized that the cab driver had no idea who he was and was talking with Hrithik just like another passenger. Hrithik did explain to the cabbie that he was a big filmstar in India, but the mild reaction from the driver didn’t really make the young Roshan happy.
To his luck however, when the cab stopped at one of the signals, a group of Indian girls spotted Hrithik in the cab and started screaming and pounding on the cab. It was then that the driver realized whom he was giving a ride. Hrithik says it was the moment when he felt that God must’ve heard him. He was never happier to be surrounded by his fans than at that moment in his life. The cab driver then didn’t take money from Hrithik. In fact, he asked him for his autograph instead. Now, this is what we call star power.
Born in 1974, Hrithik’s first movie role was as a child artist in the 1980 movie Aasha, when he was six years old. In the movie, he appeared in a dance sequence as an extra. He also appeared as a child artist in Aap Ki Deewane in 1980 and Bhagwan Dada in 1986. Hrithik made a smashing debuted as the lead in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai with actress Amisha Patel in 2000.
Directed by his father Rakesh Roshan, the film turned out to be the highest grossing film of 2000 and won many awards. Hrithik also starred in two critically-acclaimed films the same year, Fiza and Mission Kashmir.
Hrithik was nominated for Best Actor in Fiza and Mission Kashmir was nominated for Best Film at Filmfare. Other hits that the actor starred in are Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham, Koi Mil Gaya and in its 2006-sequel, most recently, Krrish.
Though his 2004 release Lakshya did not fare well at the box office, critics dubbed it as Hrithik’s most impressive performance. Hrithik’s most recent release is Dhoom 2, a sequel to the 2004 hit Dhoom in which he plays the villain Aryan. His forthcoming films are Akbar-Jodha and Kismat Talkies which are scheduled to release this year. He is married Suzanne Khan and has a one-year-old son, Hrehaan, born on March 28, 2006.
have to say that i think Hritik is an amazing actor and he seems like a good human being too. Ive always been a fan of shah Rukh but after having met my other half who is Hritiks greatest fan i have to say i started watching his films more.
Not only is he a a fan but he is a Hritik look a like and i would say much better looking than him (no offense). He has been stopped in the streets many times. Our Leicester Hritik!!
Ive seen pictures of Tarun Khanna who is meant to look like him but i really dont see it. I think people need to look out for Jeet Karia. If you know him you will agree… Watch this space…
