The King of Pop may have been $400 million in debt, but it turns out he had some money stashed under the proverbial mattress.

The executors of Michael Jackson’s estate have recovered about $5.5 million in cash and “tangible personal property” from the singer’s former advisers, according to court documents filed along with an allowance request for Katherine Jackson and Michael’s three children.

Which is a lot more than what the accountants unearthed in their initial report on the state of Jackson’s finances.

Attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain, appointed by Jackson as executors of his estate in a will dated from 2002, also stated in the filing that there’s more dough—”tens of millions of dollars of revenue”—on the horizon, as well, from various deals that are in the works.

The dollar amounts they’re requesting for Katherine and the kids were redacted from the public record.

Starting with assets like his stake in Sony/ATV Music Publishing’s catalog and then allowing for all the Vegas shopping sprees, bad investments, zoo animals, etc., Jackson’s net worth was recently valued at $236 million.

The singer – whose bid to adopt Malawian orphan Mercy James was rejected last week – called the “RocknRolla” director’s London home to talk to their son Rocco, eight.

But just minutes into their conversation, the 50-year-old singer reportedly began sobbing and asked to speak to Guy, who she divorced in January because of his “unreasonable behavior.”
Madonna has been in tears on the phone to her ex-husband Guy Ritchie.

A source said: “Civil conversations between them have been few and far between in the past year. But over the last week things have improved.”

“Guy had Rocco over for a visit when Madonna called to see if he was OK, as she always does when she is away from the kids.”
“Rocco was speaking to her and suddenly turned to Guy and said, ‘Daddy, daddy. Mommy is crying.’ He then handed Guy the phone.”

Guy spent an hour comforting his ex, and now calls Madonna every day to see how she is.

The source continued to Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “It’s unusual for Madonna to cry but this has really upset her. Explaining to Rocco why Mercy wasn’t coming home has been difficult.”

“Guy was incredibly sympathetic, calmed her down and told her to be happy with the family she had.”

Madonna and her children Lourdes, 12, Rocco and David, three, flew into Malawi last week to finalize the adoption of Mercy, four.

The singer was expecting to be granted custody immediately but Judge Esme Chombo rejected the case because Madonna has not lived in Malawi for 18 months or more.

Guy, 40, has publicly supported the adoption bid and was “saddened” when it was turned down.

He said: “I fully supported Madonna in her decision to apply for this adoption, and I am saddened her application has been rejected.”

“She is motivated only by being a caring parent who seeks to share some of the advantages and opportunities that her life has given her.”

Katy Perry says men are ”like artichokes.”

The “I Kissed A Girl” singer – who recently split from her boyfriend, Gym Class Heroes star Travis McCoy – blasted boys as she performed in New York this week.

Meanwhile, Lindsay’s grandmother Marilyn has spoken of her concern for her granddaughter. Speaking from New York, she said: “All the family would like to reach out to her. We’re all here for her and we’d love to see her.”

When quizzed on what she will be doing in a decade, Miley said: “I’ll be a soccer mom – like Posh Spice!”

Jade’s widow Jack Tweed, 21, and mother Jackiey Budden, 50 are said to be “furious” at the attempt to make money from the 27-year-old’s death.

The wristband – issued for security purposes to allow invitees to gain access to the church for the funeral – is a white band with the words “Jade Goody 1981-2009″ printed in black.

The seller writes on the auction listing: “This is a genuine sale of a genuine item which may well interest a collector of Jade memorabilia.”

Jade’s family are also concerned robbers could visit her grave – the location of which was supposed to remain a secret from the public, but has already been discovered – and steal mementos to sell.

Jackiey and Jack are said to be seriously considering bringing in 24 hour security to guard the site.

Bishop Jonathan Blake – who married Jade and Jack just a month before she died – said: “There was talk of Jade being buried where she is out of reach of the public, like Princess Diana, but her family know that she belongs to the people.”

“But the consequence of this is that Jade’s family must now manage the crowds. One way would be to have guards there permanently.”

Meanwhile, a war between three rival companies desperate to make a film of Jade’s life has started.

The star’s publicist Max Clifford confirmed: “I’m in discussions with three separate organizations, all of whom want to make a movie of her life.”
