NIXON EAGER TO MARRY IN NEW YORK

Cynthia Nixon wants to marry girlfriend Christine Marinoni as soon as it becomes legal in her home state of New York.

The “Sex and the City” actress – who has been dating the education activist for four years – is ready to tie the knot but will only do it once gay marriages are legally recognized in the Big Apple.

She told the New York Daily News newspaper: “In an ideal world, we would like to marry in New York, when it becomes legalized. Hopefully, it won’t take 20 years.”

Same-sex marriages were recently legalized in California but New York has yet to change its law.

This is not the first time Cynthia - who has two children, 11-year-old daughter Samantha and five-year-old son Charles, with ex-boyfriend Danny Mozes - has revealed her desire to marry Christine.

The 42-year-old actress previously said: “I definitely would get married. It’s something my girlfriend is interested in too.”

“I think that to get married to her would be a little act of rebellion. It’s like if you’ve never had the vote and then you get it you’re going to run out there and vote.”
