Mark Wahlberg’s “Shooter”
Mark Wahlberg had plenty of reasons to smile Thursday night at the premiere of “Shooter,” his new action flick based on the popular Stephen Hunter novels that feature ex-Marine sharpshooter Bob Lee Swagger.
Already generating a white-hot buzz around town, the movie looks to be Wahlberg’s next big hit, and has the a solid possibility of turning into a multi-film franchise for the 36-year-old actor.
Add that in with his recent Best Supporting Actor Academy Award nomination for his terrific work in Best Picture winner “The Departed”; his upcoming cameo in the new season of “Entourage,” HBO’s hit show based on his early experiences in Hollywood (he’s the executive producer, too); and his contented family life shared with model Rhea Durham and their two children, and Wahlberg can’t help but grin from ear to ear.
