Nicola Roberts has praised Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Cole’s bravery as she struggles to pick up the pieces of her broken marriage.
The 22-year-old singer said Cheryl, who recently got back with husband Ashley Cole after rumours of infidelity, was her rock.
“I would confide in Cheryl, as she’s strong, positive and a good listener,” she told OK!
Nicola also talked about how divorce was becoming “inevitable” – perhaps affected by Cheryl’s recent troubles.
“Statistics show that divorce is more inevitable these days than a couple staying together. That’s sad,” she said.
“You have to know that it’s right when you decide to get married. You have to reason with your head and not just your heart!”
Meanwhile, Cole has reportedly given her cheating soccer star husband a six-month sex ban.
The Girls Aloud beauty – who was left devastated after discovering Chelsea and England player Ashley had bedded three women behind her back – has decided to give their 19-month marriage one last chance but has told him they will not be getting intimate in the near future.
A source said: “Cheryl has told Ashley there’ll be no sex in their house for at least six months and, although he’s going to find it incredibly tough, he agreed to her terms.
