Cynthia Nixon is planning to marry her lesbian lover Christine Marinoni, it has been claimed.The “Sex and the City” star – who reprises her role as lawyer Miranda Hobbes in the upcoming movie adaptation of the hit US TV show – reportedly wants to tie the knot with education activist Christine to show her how much she appreciated her support while she was battling breast cancer.

A source close to the 42-year-old actress told the National Enquirer magazine: “Cynthia and Chris want a quiet autumn ceremony in Vermont under the red leaves.”

“It’s supposed to be a very low-key gathering just for close friends and family.”

Cynthia – who was diagnosed with the disease after a routine mammogram 18 months ago - told friends Christine was her “rock” while she was undergoing radiation therapy for to treat the cancer.

The couple first met seven months after Cynthia left her partner of 15 years, Danny Mozes, who is also the father of her children – 11-year-old Samantha and five-year-old Charles.

Fergie will be a ”cool” wife, according to her bandmate.

Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am says Fergie - who is engaged to “Las Vegas” star Josh Duhamel - will make a perfect partner for the actor.

He said: “Fergie will be the coolest wife you could have. She’s Fergie-Ferg, she’s just cool!”

Will.i.am says he couldn’t be happier for the couple, who got engaged last December.

He said: “They are perfect for each other. She brings out the best in him and he brings the best out of her. Josh is super-duper cool - one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.”

The troubled singer will reprise her role as geeky receptionist Abby in the CBS sitcom - a character described as “sweet, friendly, scattered and a little nerdy” - after her successful guest appearance on the show last month.

Craig Thomas, executive producer and co-creator of the show, confirmed: “We’re all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again.”

Production on the episode – which sees Abby and Barney, played by Neil Patrick Harris, start a relationship to annoy the show’s main character Ted, played by Josh Radnor - began yesterday (April 28, 2008).

Following Britney’s appearance on the show on March 24 – which earned the sitcom its highest ratings in the 18 to 49 age group since it first aired in 2005 – Harris revealed he hoped the 26-year-old “Toxic” star would reprise her role.

He said: “Britney did a great job on the show. She really did. In fact, we are all hoping that she returns rather soon to reprise her role as Abby.”

Kristen Bell is planning to wear her old school uniform on her wedding night.

Madonna has angered the father of her adopted son David Banda by raising him in the Kabbalah faith.

The “4 Minutes” singer - whose official adoption of the two-year-old Malawian tot is soon to be finalized - and husband Guy Ritchie have been taking David to weekly meetings at the London headquarters of the Jewish sect.

A source close to Madonna - who has two other children, Lourdes, 11, and seven-year-old Rocco - told Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper: “Madonna and Guy have been taking David to Kabbalah and he is very much a part of their Friday night ritual.”

“David goes with Guy and the children, Lourdes and Rocco, for prayers and teachings. Madonna turns up later for the meal.”

However, David’s impoverished father Yohane Banda, who gave him up for adoption after his wife died, is a devout Christian and is worried about his son not being brought up in the same faith.

Of her religion, Madonna has previously said: “I believe in Jesus and I study the Kabbalah, so I don’t see why he (David) can’t too.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt won’t marry in the summer - because she doesn’t want to be a ‘’sweaty bride.’

The 28-year-old “Ghost Whisperer” star, who announced her engagement to actor Ross McCall last November, has no plans to tie the knot in the baking heat of the sun.

Jennifer revealed: “It won’t be a summer wedding. I won’t be a sweaty bride!”

“We are still planning the wedding and haven’t set a date yet. But it’ll still be small and intimate.”

The actress also revealed she and Ross are too busy with filming commitments to set a date.

Despite no immediate plans to tie the knot, Jennifer is feeling some pressure over her engagement as she is paranoid about losing her ring.

The “Feedback” singer was presented with the Vanguard Award at the 19th Annual GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Awards in Los Angeles’ Kodak Theater by openly homosexual US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Upon receiving her award, Janet said: “I love it. I never expected it in a million years so when I heard they wanted to honor me, I was really taken aback. It’s just for the work that I’ve done with AIDS and acknowledging the gay and lesbian community through my music and so on. I’m just very appreciative.”

Janet has always been vocal about gay rights, and even wrote her number one single “Together Again” as a tribute to a close friend who died from AIDS.

She added: “Even when I was younger, when I was growing up, my mother was very religious but there were a lot of kids who were dancers that she brought into the home and now that I think about it, they were gay.”

“They all called her ‘Mother’ and she treated every one of them like they were her children. And that’s where it kind of started, I suppose. I’ve been around the community all my life.”

The 35-year-old actress, who stars alongside Ashton Kutcher in new romantic comedy “What Happens in Vegas,” held a private screening of the movie to “have a good laugh” with her grieving friends and family following the loss of Emilio Diaz on April 15.

Cameron said in a hand-written note read out by Ashton in Los Angeles on Saturday (April 26, 2008): “Due to the loss of my father I have chosen to be with my family this weekend. But it was important for me to convey to all of you how much I love this film.”

“I was fortunate to work with a group of truly gifted individuals that share the common denominator of a generous heart and wickedly sick sense of humor.”

Emilio passed away after a bout of flu developed into pneumonia. He was just 58 years old.

Meanwhile, Ashton has joked that it was “horrible” working with Cameron on the film.

He said: “I mean, showing up to work having to look at a good looking woman who is funny and happy to be alive and joyous and nice to people was a nightmare.”

He added: “I don’t think that there is anybody like her she is maybe the only true comedic leading lady in our business right now she really owns that craft.”

Cameron is expected to return to work later this week.

The hotel heiress - who started romancing the Good Charlotte rocker earlier this year - sparked wedding rumors after Benji’s brother Joel called her his “sister-in-law” and Benji was spotted wearing a diamond ring bearing the initials PH.

A source said: “Paris and Benji are inseparable. A lot of people have brushed their romance off as a publicity stunt but Benji is serious about Paris and he has discussed marriage plans with his brother - which is why Joel called her his sister-in-law.”

“He said it in a jokey way, but it sounds like it is just a matter of time.”

Joel, who is engaged to Paris’ best friend Nicole Richie, is said to be concerned his brother is rushing into marriage because he and Nicole are planning to wed.

Meanwhile, Paris and Benji have been accused of being in a hit and run incident against a photographer.

Glen Gurniak filed a lawsuit against the couple, claiming Benji drove over his foot while Paris was in the passenger seat as they left a Hollywood club.

Gurniak said: “There were too many people that side of the car so he swung the wheels in my direction on the other side of the car and got my foot trapped under the wheel.”

The “Iron Man” star had no idea what was wrong with her when she was suffering from the condition following the birth of two-year-old Moses, her second child with Coldplay star husband Chris Martin.

She said: “It was a very difficult time. I just did not know what was wrong with me. I felt very detached, I felt like I was a shell of myself. I just felt like I was going through the motions of the things in my life.”

“It was a very weird three to six months. I didn’t know what was wrong with me until I started to come out of it, and my mom said to me, ‘You don’t seem right. What’s going on?’ And I was defensive because I didn’t know what was wrong with me.”

Gwyneth - who also has a three-year-old daughter Apple with Chris - can empathies with any other woman who has had to deal with depression.

She added to US TV “Entertainment Tonight”: “By the time I realized I needed medication I was already coming out of it. I really feel for any woman who’s had it or going through it, because it’s not easy.”

A personal letter from Cameron Diaz was handed out to members of the press on Saturday (April 26), with the star apologizing for her absence from the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie and offering her thanks for support following the recent death of her father.

The actress’ father, Emilio Diaz, passed away last week at 58 years of age after a brief bout of pneumonia.

Diaz’s co-star in the new movie ‘What Happens In Vegas’, Ashton Kutcher, helped hand out the letters, which were written by the actress on her own stationery.

“First of all I want to thank all of you for your support over the years,” she wrote. I was really looking forward to thus weekend getting to talk to my friends about a film I am so proud of… [due to] the loss of my Father, I have chosen to be with my family this weekend,” she wrote.

“It was important to me to convey to all of you how much I love this film.”

Diaz also explains that, “This weekend I am screening ‘What Happens In Vegas’ for my family. It was a unanimous decision that we all needed to share a good laugh. After all that’s why we make films like these. So people can leave behind their worries for a couple of hours. Have a good laugh.”

Jessica Alba admits that shooting her latest horror movie was one of her most intense experiences yet. The pregnant actress reveals to Rob Driscoll what it was like playing a blind woman – and why she’s pleased there was no bloodshed

SHE may have shot to fame alongside Ioan Gruffudd as a Hollywood superhero but Jessica Alba’s latest movie experience was far less glamorous.

For horror movie The Eye, not only did she have to play a top-class concert violinist, but also a woman who has been blind since childhood.

So intense was the filming experience that Alba endured “a lot of sleeplessness” during the shoot.

In preparation, Alba spent six months learning to play the violin, as well as visiting blind orientation centres and mixing with blind people.

It’s all a far cry from the glitzy, glamorous image conveyed by the glossy Hollywood movies that have made her famous – the two Fantastic Four movies (which saw her pucker up to Cardiff-born Gruffudd), Sin City and Into The Blue.

But then, despite huge success as one of the industry’s hottest young female stars, Alba is, in her own words, something of a perfectionist when it comes to the day job – and also a realist.

“First and foremost, I’m an actress, so if I’m playing a violinist no-one’s saying I have to be absolutely note-perfect all day long while we’re filming,” explains Alba, who will be 27 on Monday .

“Obviously you’re not going to pick up an instrument that complex in so short an amount of time. But I wanted to get it right. I couldn’t have the audience think that I wasn’t playing. I practised so much. And we were shooting nights, so my days ended when everyone else’s started. It’s kind of impossible to sleep at seven in the morning with the sun spilling into your room!”

Alba is expecting a child in May with her film-producer fiancé, 28-year-old Cash Warren, whom she met while making Fantastic Four. Other heavily pregnant starlets might not have turned up to promote their latest movie, but you quickly get the impression that The Eye is a fairly substantial project in the Alba canon – and indeed very different from her usual, more mainstream fare.

“It was the most interesting female role I’ve ever read,” says Alba. “And it’s certainly not your average, typical horror movie. It’s more about a young woman who is faced with things that she really cannot explain, and who fears that she is losing her mind and her grip on sanity.”

The film is, in fact, a remake of a cult 2002 Chinese supernatural horror movie. Alba’s character, Sydney Wells is an acclaimed violinist, blind since a tragic childhood accident, who decides to undergo a double corneal transplant, in the hope of regaining her sight.

The operation is successful, and Sydney can see for the first time in 20 years. But her happiness is short-lived as she starts to be haunted by inexplicable shady visions and frightening images alien to her own life and circumstances. “Are you seeing dead people?” asks her doctor in a knowing reference to The Sixth Sense. Of course she can – and this is what has made the film such a hit at the US box office.

California-born Alba has turned down more than a few “slasher” movies before now, but she considers The Eye to be several notches above that cynical, money-grabbing genre.

“A lot of horror movies have girls running away from a guy who is torturing them or kidnapping them,” she explains. “There’s always much more a victim stance when it comes to the female character and it usually involves crying and screaming.

“I found The Eye a far more fascinating and complex scenario. It’s not about gore, it’s about suspense and psychological tension. When I read it, I realised it didn’t need to have people’s body parts being ripped apart, it didn’t need cursing and it didn’t need sex. I thought it was a complete, terrifying experience without those things that would make it an 18-rated movie.”

Alba does, however, claim to be an avid fan of more traditional Hollywood horror. “One of the first movies I ever remember watching was Nightmare On Elm Street – I think I was about four and a half,” she confesses with a laugh. “It gave me nightmares until I was 13. My parents didn’t know, nor did they approve, obviously. I was a sneaky child, I hid behind the couch and watched the whole thing. Later that night, I insisted on sleeping in bed with them; if I was going to be sucked into the bed into some netherworld, I was going to be with them!

“Later on, I loved movies like Psycho, The Birds, It, Poltergeist, Rosemary’s Baby, The Ring – those kind of movies are more my speed than people getting mutilated and chopped into bits.” Alba started taking her violin lessons for The Eye while she was shooting the second Fantastic Four movie. “I had to train for months just to learn how to hold the bow and instrument properly and that’s only half the battle,” she grimaces. “I’m playing complicated classical pieces in the film, so I had to learn how to play the actual notes.”

Equally challenging, of course, was playing a woman who is blind. Alba spent time living at the New Mexico Commission for the Blind, where she learned basic Braille reading, and received training under the guidance of a certified orientation mobility instructor.

“I also spent time with a woman around my age who’s a musician herself and who’s been blind since she was three,” reveals Alba. “She travels all around the world on her own, and she doesn’t have a guide or a dog. Just observing her and spending time with her, she was pretty much my inspiration for my character.”

After Alba’s extensive musical preparation for the role, might a back-up career as a violinist beckon? “Never in a million years,” she laughs. “It’s the most difficult instrument on the planet. I did six months of extensive training with three different violin teachers, and these are women who’ve been playing since they were three years old, all of them. They are all in orchestras, and they still practise eight hours a day. I just simply don’t have that amount of dedication, to be honest.”
