Dina Lohan insists the troubled actress – who is due to be released from the Century Regional Correctional Facility in Lynwood, California, over the next few days – is being treated like every other “common criminal,” but says the guards and other inmates have been fair to her.

Discussing claims Lindsay has access to a cell phone behind bars, Dina said: “She doesn’t have cell phone privileges, that’s absurd. She doesn’t even have a pillow to sleep on.”

“I talk to her through glass. There’s a phone and we put her on speaker but I can’t even hug my daughter. She’s treated like a common criminal.”

“I have to say that the people inside have been pretty cool to her… the guards and the inmates.”

Lindsay was sentenced to spend 90 days in prison, followed by 90 days in rehab, after violating the terms of her probation for her 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) charge.

She entered jail on July 20 and is expected to be released on either Sunday (August 1, 2010) or Monday (August 2, 2010) – when she will have just 24 hours to begin a court-ordered rehab stay.

Lindsay’s family are thrilled she is about to be released from jail and that this “extremely harsh punishment” is coming to an end.

Dina told RadarOnline.com: “We’re all so happy that this is finally coming to a close. When this first happened, we were all hysterical messes. But I’m so proud of Lindsay, she’s been so strong and positive, even under what I consider to be a extremely harsh punishment.”

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old actress’ estranged father Michael Lohan – who has regularly accused his daughter of being a addicted to prescription drugs – has asked the Attorney General of California, Jerry Brown, to investigate Lindsay’s doctors for overprescribing her medications.

Gossip website TMZ has got a copy of a legal letter which asks for an investigation into the “unscrupulous doctors” who “overprescribe medications to Lindsay… in violation of California law.”

The actress – who plays singleton Kassie who decides to use a friend as a sperm donor to have a baby in new movie “The Switch” – would prefer to conceive a child in the traditional way.

When quizzed by talk show host Jay Leno on whether she would undergo artificial insemination on “The Tonight Show,” she replied: “I’d wanna know the guy!”

Jay continued to tease the 41-year-old Hollywood star actress about the embarrassing subject matter putting her on the spot about how a sperm bank works.

She said: “Well, you go to the bank and you have a card… I honestly don’t know exactly.”

Although she isn’t interested in visiting a sperm bank, Jennifer was recently reported to be visiting a life coach to make her baby dream come true.

Debra Sickels – a recently released prisoner in contact with other inmates at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, where Lindsay is serving time – claims the troubled actress is receiving special treatment.

She told the New York Daily News newspaper: “The girls said they cleaned a special room for Lindsay. It had a regular hospital bed, a TV and a dresser for her new clothes and socks.”

And Debra revealed that “some inmates were getting p**sy over it.”

It has also been claimed that Lindsay is paying out for even more perks such as special food, new clothes, a female guard and private phone access, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department has denied the actress is being treated differently to other inmates.

A spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department said: “She’s being treated like any other inmate in her classification. There’s no special treatment at all.”

Lindsay – who was sentenced to 90 days incarceration for breaching the terms of probation set for her 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction – is already facing criticism after her family were allowed to visit her outside of official visiting hours.

Visitors are usually only accepted on Saturdays and Sundays from 8.30am to 3.30pm and 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

However, it is believed the decision for her to have the private meeting was for safety reasons.

Law enforcement officials said: “Lindsay might get visitors after the official visiting hours are over for the other inmates for security reasons. It’s for the safety of everyone.”

The actress – who is rumored to be dating New York Yankees player Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez – is happy to tackle her own stunts and mix it with the boys on set but insists she is a girlie girl deep down.

Speaking at the UK premiere of her new action film “Knight and Day” in London’s Leicester Square last night (July 22, 2010), Cameron told BANG Showbiz: “Things I enjoy doing mean I often get labeled as a tomboy, but I can assure you I’m all woman!”

The blonde beauty also admitted she and her “Knight and Day” co-star Tom Cruise were “really lucky” not to be injured while shooting several dangerous stunts and action sequences for the movie.

The “Bounty Hunter” star’s lawyers obtained a temporary restraining order yesterday (July 20, 2010) at a court in Santa Monica to protect her from Jason R. Peyton, who was arrested after spending days trying to find the actress on Sunset Boulevard, California.

In a signed court declaration the actress revealed that “delusional” Peyton had made her fear for her safety.

She stated: “Mr. Peyton has aggressively sought to have personal contact with me and integrate himself into my life. Due to Mr. Peyton’s delusional compulsion and increasingly harassing, stalking and threatening conduct, I have been subjected to a course of conduct which has and is seriously alarming, annoying and harassing me.”

“Mr. Peyton’s ongoing, ever-increasing, aggressive and harassing conduct are extremely distressing. I fear for my personal safety and that of those around me.”

Court documents filed on Tuesday reveal police detained the 24-year-old man – who traveled cross-country in a delusional attempt to marry the former “Friends” star – last week after finding him with a sharp object, duct tape and love notes to her.

Among the messages he had written to himself were brief notes reading “Jen told me she wants me to be the father of her children” and “Call Jen,” as well a s a list of potential baby names.

The filings state Peyton – who had scratched “I love Jennifer Aniston” onto his car – has been accused of stalking others and is disobeying court orders that he must take anti-psychotic medications.

Police reports say he has “a history of violence and criminal stalking.”

The man – who has been diagnosed as a delusional and paranoid schizophrenic was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold by Los Angeles police.

According to court documents, Peyton has said he “won’t stop” his pursuit of the 41-year-old actress.

Under the terms of the restraining order Peyton must stay 100 yards away from the actress’ home, places of work and vehicles. He must also not approach her staff, agents, managers and other representatives.

The “Extra Man” star – who has a daughter Suri, four, with actor husband Tom Cruise – claimed her loved ones help to be creative while she is at home, as they inspire the way she approaches some of her movie roles.

Speaking to America’s OK! magazine, she explained: “Every day my husband inspires me. My family inspires me. My daughter inspires. We’re always sort of creating new things whether it’s a party, or a script or a movie. We try to be a very creative household.”

The brunette beauty admitted she thinks Suri could follow in her famous parents’ footsteps in the acting world if that’s what she wants when she grows up.

She said: “I know that she can do whatever she wants and she’ll be great at it.”

Tom recently revealed he always speaks to Suri about his impending movie roles and runs through his scripts with her.
