Teri Hatcher sleeps in the same bed as her dog.

The “Desperate Housewives” actress recently gave an American Bulldog called Jack a new home, but admits his sleeping habits are hampering her love life a little.

Teri explained: “I got a new dog. I got an American Bulldog named Jack I rescued. He’s not a big shedder, but he does snore. I have to wear earplugs when he sleeps with me.”

The 44-year-old actress – who has 11-year-old daughter Emerson Rose – already has two dogs, three cats, a rabbit, two birds and a horse at her house, and revealed she decided to get a new dog rather than a cat so she didn’t look “crazy.”

She added to US TV show “Access Hollywood”: “It was so funny. My daughter wanted me to get another cat. I said, ‘Honey, we can’t have four cats, then I’m like the crazy single lady with all the cats.’”

“And she goes, ‘No, mom, that’s five. Five is when you become the crazy single cat lady.’”

Teri Hatcher’s abuser has died in jail.

Richard Hayes Stone – the “Desperate Housewives” actress’ former uncle who she helped put in prison for molesting two girls – was six years into a 14-year sentence when he passed away from colon cancer at the age of 70.

Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Chuck Gillingham, who prosecuted Stone, said: “It closes the book on a very, very sad tragedy. Unfortunately those who are still alive will always suffer from his actions.”

In 2002, Teri came forward about the abuse she suffered as a child from Stone after reading about teenager Sarah Van Cleemput, who shot herself in the head leaving behind a note that said: “You’re probably thinking a normal teenager doesn’t do this – well, ask Dick!”

The note referred to Stone, a friend of Sarah’s family.

According to Gillingham, Teri – who was seven years old when she was abused by the then-husband of her mother’s sister – almost canceled making her statement and only relented after contemplating her feelings if her own daughter Emerson Rose, now 10, was abused.

The District Attorney said in 2006: “When we went to interview her, she almost canceled.”

“But she had with her daughter that morning and was thinking if, God forbid, something happened to her daughter that someone would come forward and do the right thing.”

Teri, 43, later revealed she worried she would be portrayed as a publicity-seeking has-been actress if her ordeal came out in the media.

She said: “At the end of the day, there was no way I was not going to put this girl first, before whatever damage might be done to me.”

Stone pleaded guilty upon seeing the actress’ statement, meaning she did not have to go to court.

He was serving his sentence at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison in Blythe, California.

Desperate Housewives makes its way back to the airwaves on Sunday night and for those that put up with Teri Hatcher on American Idol this week are happy to have the quirky nighttime soap opera back on the air. But there is one report that this might be it for Edie, played by actress Nicollette Sheridan.

According to a report from the Star magazine Desperate Housewives may need a new resident vixen. Sources tell Star that Nicollette Sheridan, who plays devious real estate agent Edie Britt, will be moving out of Wisteria Lane at the end of this season. “They are planning a party to wish her well in her new life,” says a show insider.

Adds another source to the weekly entertainment magazine: “Whispers are swirling all over the set at Universal about her leaving the show. There has been a lot of speculation in the past, but this time there seems to be something to the rumors.”

The goodbye party, says the insider, is being planned for next month, once filming ends. Cue the rep™: Nicollette’s rep tells Star she will return for a fifth season, but the speculation is that a decision to leave would come as no surprise.

According to the second source, Nicollette, 44, who was once married to actor Harry Hamlin and got engaged to singer Michael Bolton in 2006, “has been talking about leaving the show for the past two years so she can spend more time with Michael and her horses.”

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher is in no rush to walk down the aisle because she’s enjoying single life too much to worry about marrying.

The twice-divorced actress, 43, has a 10-year-old daughter, Emerson Rose, from her nine-year marriage to actor Jon Tenney and insists she’s content with her batchelorette status.

Hatcher says, “There are plenty of men in my life, and they’re all special. Seriously – I’m doing fine just the way I am.

“The other day I was talking to a girlfriend who was turning 40. I asked her how she was feeling about it, and she said, ‘It’s funny, when I was 39, I was going through all the stress of, oh God, I’m not married, I haven’t done this or that… But now I’m actually 40, I feel great. I feel powerful, like I’ve lived and learned a lot.’ “And she was right. It was good to be reminded of that.”

A lawsuit launched against Teri Hatcher by a cosmetics firm will be sent to arbitration after a Los Angeles judge ruled in her favour.

Beauty company Hydroderm lodged a £2 million lawsuit against the Desperate Housewives actress, suing her for breach of contract, after they claimed she had promoted other beauty products while signed up to them.

The star, who was paid £2.4 million to promote Hydroderm products, insists her promotion of CityLips’ lip plumper did not affect the deal, and that management changes constantly left her unsure of the terms of her conract.

And Hatcher’s lawyers have successfully persuaded a judge to move the case to arbitration, meaning the matter will now be settled out of court.

Eva Longoria has been treated to a second bridal shower – hosted by another ”Desperate Housewife.”

Teri Hatcher threw a girls-only bash for the sexy star on Monday night (04.16.07) – just a day after Felicity Huffman organized a wedding party with Eva’s best friend Brittany Olson.

The party was held at the host’s Los Angeles home, where Teri treated guests to Moet champagne, a buffet of finger foods and “lots of fun.”

The 30 guests – which included cast and crew of the hit US TV show – were each given a garter as they arrived, which they had to forfeit if they said the words “Tony,” “Paris” or “dress” during the evening. Eva, 32, is marrying basketball star Tony Parker on July 7 in the romantic French capital.

At the end of the night, the guest with the most garters won a prize – which went to “Desperate Housewives” publicist Joslyn Paul.

Teri won the competition at Felicity’s Sunday bash – to design a wedding dress out of toilet roll.

Following her first bridal shower, Eva said: “It was such a special day! Felicity and my maid of honor, Brittany Olson, went above and beyond to make the whole afternoon beautiful and memorable. I can’t thank them enough.”
