Jennifer Hudson wanted to be a tattoo artist.

The “Spotlight” singer would have opted for a very different career if she hadn’t made it as a singer and actress. She said: “My second choice was to be a tattoo artist because I also draw.”

But the 27-year-old star – who came sixth in TV talent show “American Idol” in 2004 – said she was tempted into the music industry because it paid better than flipping burgers.

She explained to US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “When I was 17 years old, I worked at Burger King and I found that I was making more money singing one show – $75 at the time.”

“I thought it was a lot of money so I decided, ‘I’m quitting this Burger King. I’m going to make my living using my talents and gifts.’”

Jennifer – who is engaged to David Otunga – has set a date for her upcoming wedding, but is remaining tight-lipped about the details. She said: “Yeah, but it’s a secret. I can’t tell anybody.”

Despite being a pop star and Oscar-winning actress, Jennifer – who is about to embark on her first headline tour on March 31 – insists she and David are just like any normal couple.

She said: “We’re like big kids so we like to ride bikes and one thing I like to do is I put my dog in her little basket and put her on my back and then we ride the bike to the dog park.”

The “Umbrella” singer had the firearm inked under her right armpit last Thursday (March 19, 2009) to signify “protection,” according to the artist who etched the design.

Tattooist BangBang, said: “I’m a big advocate of guns. So I said, ‘How about a gun?’”

“I printed out a picture of a gun that I thought would look good, and she loved it. It’s powerful. It’s protection. At least that’s my interpretation of it.”

The Barbados-born singer – whose boyfriend Chris Brown has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats after allegedly attacking her – initially wanted the gun design on both her shoulders, but decided against it as it may have interfered with her modeling contract with make-up company Cover Girl.

BangBang continued: “We were thinking of putting it on her finger next to her wrist, or on her shoulders.”

“She loved that, but it took away from her face, and you know, Cover Girl wouldn’t have liked it much, and they pay the bills!”

“It took about 15 minutes. She didn’t complain while I did the tattoo.”

Rihanna, 21, flew BangBang to Los Angeles to tattoo her friend for her birthday, then decided to get an etching as well.

BangBang has done the majority of Rihanna’s body art, which also includes a collection of stars down her back, a music note on her ankle and a Pisces sign behind her right ear, as well as a star inside her left ear and the word “Shhh…” on her index finger.

The “I Kissed a Girl” singer wants to pay homage to the late Queen front man by getting a giant design of his head inked on her back.

She said: “I nearly got a huge tattoo of Freddie Mercury’s face on my back a few years ago. It’s probably for the best that I didn’t get it done, but I still want to do it.”

The 24-year-old singer has previously named the eccentric star as her musical idol because of his flamboyant personality.

She explained: “Freddie Mercury was – and remains – my biggest influence.”

“The combination of his sarcastic approach to writing lyrics and his ‘I don’t give a f**k’ attitude really inspired my music.”

It seems the beauty applies Freddie’s mantra to all aspects of her life.

Katy has also confessed she has an embarrassing wind problem and constantly expels gas.

She laughed during an interview on video sharing website MySpace: “I fart a lot. I’m hopping around and I’m a little gassy.”

“I’ve had so many embarrassing moments but I don’t care.”

Lily Allen is already regretting her latest tattoo.

Both Lily and US actress Lindsay Lohan recently got “shhh…” tattooed on their index fingers after a drunken night partying in Los Angeles.

But Lily didn’t realize she was actually a copying “Umbrella” singer Rihanna, who had the design etched on last year.

She said: “I’ve since found out Rihanna’s got the same thing, so it’s not really – I mean she’s very cool – but I thought I was being original.”

Friends are saying Lily is a bad influence on Lindsay and the actress’ girlfriend Samantha Ronson is regretting introducing the pair.

Lily worked with Samantha’s brother Mark on her debut album “Alright, Still,” and is good friends with them.

Sam recently played an acoustic show in Los Angeles and dedicated a song with lyrics about being “out of control” to Lindsay – leading to another in a long line of blazing rows between the couple.
