To say Sandra Bullock’s All About Steve got bad reviews is to say the Titanic hit choppy water.

Really, really, really terrible reviews or no, All About Steve avoided disaster, grossing an estimated and respectable $11.2 million Friday-Sunday, Box Office Mojo reported, and taking second at the box office to The Final Destination, last weekend’s 3-D champ, which led with $12.4 million.

Gerard Butler’s Gamer, meanwhile, managed $9 million Friday-Sunday, and was a player only because the Labor Day competition was so typically weak.

Here’s how the long weekend is shaping up so far:

The way The Hangover was going, Sandra Bullock would need the biggest opening of her career—by a lot—in order to end the Vegas comedy’s two-week reign of debauchery atop the box office.

Done.

The Bullock romantic comedy, The Proposal, costarring Ryan Reynolds, scored an estimated $34.1 million from Friday to Sunday, beating The Hangover ($26.9 million) and another holdover not soon to be confused for a pushover: Up ($21.3 million).

The new Jack Black-Michael Cera comedy Year One took the bite out of bad buzz with a respectable $20.2 million debut.

Drilling down into the numbers:

Sandra Bullock is one lucky lady. In The Proposal, her new romantic comedy in which she plays a wretched book publisher who blackmails her assistant into marrying her, Bullock got to be very naked with Ryan Reynolds.

How was it? “Rock hard,” she says.

Oh, really?

Poor Ryan Reynolds. Little did the actor know what he was getting into when he signed on to costar in The Proposal opposite Sandra Bullock and Betty White.

As the video reveals, Brian, er, Ryan, was clearly unprepared for the verbal—and even physical—abuse that was directed at him by way of America’s sweetheart and one national treasure.

So if you ever happen to find yourself on a set someday with either of these two ladies, it’s probably best that you simply get that cup of coffee.

Sandra Bullock hopes it’s not too late for her to have a baby.

The 44-year-old actress – who helps raise husband Jesse James’ three children from two previous marriages – has not ruled out having a baby herself.

She said: “I hope to God when we get to a place where all is safe, calm, happy and healthy, it’s not too late.”

“I have family in spades. Everything we do is about the kids. I haven’t had children biologically.”

“I had shut that off – then I met Jesse and it turned on again. I was like, ‘Oh, it’s that feeling.’”

The “Miss Congeniality” star put off childbirth because she and Jesse, 39, wanted to concentrate on charity work first.

However, Sandra will consider adoption if she is too old to have a child naturally.

She added to InStyle magazine: “We realized we had to take care of some other things on this planet first. If I waited too long, it’s because we were supposed to do other things.”

“If it is just too late? There are millions of children on this planet that I would be honored to call my own.”

A car carrying actress Sandra Bullock and her husband, Jesse James, was hit by a drunk driver, but no one involved in the accident was hurt, People magazine has reported on its website.

The magazine said Saturday that the accident occurred late Friday in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where Bullock is filming “The Proposal on Cape Ann.”

Bullock and her husband were being driven home at around 9:50 pm when a gray Subaru station wagon jumped lanes and smashed into the front end of their car.

“They were shaken up, needless to say,” People quoted Gloucester Police Lieutenant Gerry Cook as saying. “But they were fine.”

The driver of the Subaru, identified as Lucille Gatchell, 64, was administered a field sobriety test and showed two and a half times the legal limit of alcohol in her blood, the report said.

Sandra Bullock couldn’t do it. Neither could Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton or Nicole Kidman. But Jodie Foster did. Foster’s The Brave One topped the weekend box office with $14 million, per Exhibitor Relations estimates Sunday, marking the first time this year that a movie toplined by an actress outpaced the competition.

By Foster’s standards, The Brave One’s opening was unspectacular. Her two previous films, 2005’s Flightplan and 2006’s Inside Man, both enjoyed significantly bigger debuts. In fact, of her recent movies, only Anna and the King, a box-office dud from 1999, posted a smaller opening weekend ($5.2 million, according to Box Office Mojo stats).

But a win was a win. Foster’s turn as a Charles Bronson-esque revenge seeker in The Brave One played much bigger than Kevin Bacon’s like-minded Death Sentence, which opened last month.

It also broke a yearlong, 40-week winning streak perpetuated by male figure skaters (Blades of Glory), male turtles (TMNT), male rats (Ratatouille), male pirates (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), a man dressed as a spider (Spider-Man 3), a man dressed as a woman (Norbit), men barely clad as Spartan warriors (300), four midlife-crisis-suffering men on bikes (Wild Hogs), one flaming-skull-afflicted man on a bike (Ghost Rider) and Shia LaBeouf (Disturbia and Transformers), among others.

Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man 3) and Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up) starred in chart-topping hit movies, as did other actresses, but both shared billing and storyline with male counterparts.

Among actresses who were their movies’ biggest stars, Sandra Bullock posted 2007’s biggest opening weekend to date, with $17.6 million for Premonition. But going up against surprisingly stiff competition in March (see 300 and Wild Hogs), the thriller could do no better than a third-place debut.

Other actress-driven movies that failed to win a weekend, if not outright failed: Diane Keaton’s Because I Said So… ($13.1 million debut), Catherine Zeta-Jones’ No Reservations ($11.7 million), Jane Fonda’s Georgia Rule ($6.8 million) and Nicole Kidman’s The Invasion ($6 million).

The top-grossing movies to even feature female forms on their posters—Shrek the Third, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and The Simpsons Movie—didn’t even really feature women, as Shrek and The Simpsons’ ladies are cartoons, and Harry Potter’s are girls.

3:10 to Yuma, starring men Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, didn’t want for the female touch in its second weekend. Last weekend’s box-office champ held up nicely, taking in another $9.2 million ($28.6 million overall) for a second-place finish.

Despite its manly title, Mr. Woodcock, the new Billy Bob Thornton gym-teacher comedy, opened third, with $9.1 million.

Dragon Wars, a Korean-made monster movie that’s already taken in more than $50 million worldwide, didn’t fire up too much of its presumed male fan base in its U.S. debut, with $5.4 million (fourth place).

Elsewhere, Shoot ‘Em Up ($2.6 million; $10.4 million overall) spent its ammo quickly, falling out of the top 10 in only its second weekend. The Nanny Diaries ($2.2 million; $24 million overall) didn’t hang around much longer.

In limited release, director David Cronenberg’s Toronto Film Festival-topping Eastern Promises, starring Viggo Mortensen and Naomi Watts, saw its big buzz translate into relative big bucks with $552,676 at 15 theaters. Its per-screen average of $38,845 blew away the major-release likes of The Brave One ($5,087).

Across the Universe, Julie Taymor’s arty love story set to the music of the Beatles, was another art-house blockbuster, with $685,000 at 23 theaters.

Latino comedian George Lopez reveals that he considers actress Sandra Bullock to be his “guardian angel” after she saved him from an early death.

The comedian took to the bottle in the mid-1990s when he was going through a bad phase of life, and at that time it was Bullock who gave him the opportunity to star in his own TV show named ‘The George Lopez Show’.

Bullock produced the U.S. sitcom, and the show turned his fortune around.

Since then he considers Bullock his “guardian angel”.

“I grew up where you could visually see people wasting their lives and the pattern was kind of laid out for me for drinking your life away or not believing what you could do,” Contactmusic quoted Lopez, as saying.

“I hit a hard time in the mid-90s, where I was self abusing with alcohol and then Sandra Bullock turned that around.

“She was my guardian angel, definitely. I’d lived unhealthy and I just kind of accepted the way I felt and kind of adjusted to the fact that I was deteriorating from the time I was a kid at 18, through my 20s and 30s.

“I didn’t want to become what the people I grew up with had become, which was abusing the system, using excuses for not succeeding, living off the state and raising these kids who had no respect for anybody,” he added.

Sandra Bullock loves being a stepmother.

The “Premonition” actress, who has denied she is pregnant with her first child, says she is already experiencing motherhood through her relationship with husband Jesse James’ three children from his previous marriages.

Sandra told US magazine People: “I have children, amazing children. My love and my hopes for their future and their happiness, for their homework to be done and for them to know how smart and beautiful they are is no less than if they were my own biological children.”

“I have my family, and it’s the family that some higher power put in my path. I feel really lucky.”

Jesse and Sandra live together in California just minutes away from his first wife Karla and their children Chandler, 12, and nine-year-old Jesse Jr.

The motorcycle tycoon’s second wife Janine also lives close-by with his three-year-old daughter Sunny.

Sandra has a philosophical approach when it comes to having her own children.

She said: “If that’s going to happen, that’s exactly the way things are supposed to be, and it would be amazing. And if it didn’t happen, then I’d know that it wasn’t meant to be.”

Drew Barrymore, Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant could have Hepatitis A.

The trio may have contracted the illness after attending a US post-premiere party for “Music and Lyrics” on February 7.

The event was catered for by Wolfgang Puck’s company, and it has been now been revealed one of the cooks had Hepatitis A.

A letter was sent to guests warning them of a “public health issue” and saying they may be at risk of infection if they had eaten uncooked food.

Guests at risk were advised to get a gamma globulin shot within 14 days of exposure – before February 21.

However, the letter wasn’t sent out until March 1. Sponsors of the party claim the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health did not inform them of the problem until February 28th.

The letter read: “The Department of Health has reassured the hosts on how very low the risk of infection is.”

Hosts of the “Music and Lyrics” party insist no one who attended contracted Hepatitis A.

Wolfgang Puck’s catering company also catered for a Sports Illustrated bash which was at the center of a Hepatitis scare.

Beyonce Knowles was one of the guests at risk of infection, but was given the all clear.
