The only bad thing about summer? It has to end.

But we’ve still got time to celebrate the stuff that makes the middle part of the calendar year so appealing: Hot bodies, attractive couples, blockbuster movies and maybe even the occasional whiff of scandal.

So before we have to put on warm clothes again, let’s start celebrating these days of wearing hardly anything at all. First up is that most essential of categories: Dudes with Hot Bodies.

The way The Hangover was going, Sandra Bullock would need the biggest opening of her career—by a lot—in order to end the Vegas comedy’s two-week reign of debauchery atop the box office.

The Bullock romantic comedy, The Proposal, costarring Ryan Reynolds, scored an estimated $34.1 million from Friday to Sunday, beating The Hangover ($26.9 million) and another holdover not soon to be confused for a pushover: Up ($21.3 million).

The new Jack Black-Michael Cera comedy Year One took the bite out of bad buzz with a respectable $20.2 million debut.

Drilling down into the numbers:

Sandra Bullock is one lucky lady. In The Proposal, her new romantic comedy in which she plays a wretched book publisher who blackmails her assistant into marrying her, Bullock got to be very naked with Ryan Reynolds.

Ever dream of attending a movie premiere on the arm of Ryan Reynolds? Well, wife Scarlett Johansson might not approve of that. But here’s a chance to get close! Reynolds is auctioning off tickets to the upcoming premieres of his two movies, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Proposal – and it’s all for a good cause.

Reynolds is selling the rare chance to hit the red carpet with him to raise funds for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research.

Lucky bidders for the Wolverine tickets will not only attend the April 28 premiere at Mann Chinese Theater in Hollywood, but will be seated “near Reynolds,” according to the Foundation. Sign up and bid for your chance here.

The winner of tickets to The Proposal, which also stars Sandra Bullock, will be seated in the very same row as Reynolds at the film’s June 1 premiere, and will also be invited to the exclusive after party.

Reynolds, whose father has Parkinsons disease, serves as the celebrity chair for Team Fox, the grassroots fundraising arm of the MJFF. In November of 2008 he raised over $100,000 for the Foundation by completing the ING New York City Marathon

The “The Spirit” star – who wed actor Ryan in a low-profile ceremony in September – is thrilled she managed to tie the knot away from the public spotlight.

Scarlett also revealed she admires her “He’s Just Not That Into You” co-star Drew Barrymore and hopes to follow in her footsteps by enjoying a lengthy movie career.

She explained: “Drew makes movies that she likes, that she is proud of, that people love, that are entertaining.”

“I would love to be able to do that someday, have a production company and encourage other directors and writers to follow their vision.”
