Rumer Willis was ”a big dork” when she was younger.

The 20-year-old actress – who is the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis – admits her role as a geeky student in new film “The House Bunny” was easy to play as she had plenty of personal experience to draw on.

She said: “I was a big dork. When I was growing up I had braces and glasses, and I had this big curly Afro. I definitely understand not entirely fitting in.”

“I think everyone has their own version of feeling out of place and I think one of the great things we have the ability to do is to know it’s all right. It’s OK to have that awkward phase.”

Rumer also revealed she didn’t always want to be an actress – she once considered training to be a doctor because she was interested in learning about psychology.

Although she eventually decided to follow her parents into the acting industry, they were adamant she had to complete her education before beginning a Hollywood career.

She added to the Ticket supplement: “For a while I thought about studying medicine at school because I’ve always been interested in how people’s minds work. But I’m able to explore some of that as an actor and ultimately I think it seems more interesting.”

“My parents always knew I wanted to act, so it didn’t really come as a big surprise. The only thing they told me was that I had to wait until I was 18 so I could get my education first.”

She said: “People tell me all the time that I look my mom. I see the resemblance, sometimes.”

“There was a picture in a magazine about look-a-like mothers and daughters and I saw that I looked exactly like her – which is great.”

“I hate my jaw. I don’t know if it’s my dad’s – I think I’m more like my mother, my littlest sister looks exactly like my dad and my middle sister is a mixture of the two.”

Rumer – who is to be Miss Golden Globe at this year’s awards, a role traditionally given to the child of a famous star – recently revealed starring in new film “The House Bunny” was a “massive learning experience.”

She said: “It’s been very different and I have to say, probably the biggest learning experience I’ve ever had, just to be able to do it and all the responsibility is on you.”

“I felt very grateful to be a part of it.”

Rumer Willis has been cast in hit US TV show ”Army Wives.”

The 20-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore – who can soon be seen in “The House Bunny,” a comedy set in Hugh Hefner’s Los Angeles’ Playboy mansion – will play the wife of a young soldier injured in Iraq in one episode.

Rumer’s appearance on the show will be aired in the US on TV network Lifetime on October 12.

The actress – who is to be Miss Golden Globe at this year’s awards, a role traditionally given to the child of a famous star – recently revealed starring in “The House Bunny” was a “massive learning experience” and she enjoyed working with “Scary Movie” actress Anna Faris.

She said: “I’m fortunately lucky, because I got to work with Anna Faris. It was really cool.”

“It’s been very different and I have to say, probably the biggest learning experience I’ve ever had, just to be able to do it and all the responsibility is on you. I felt very grateful to be a part of it.”
