Keeping herself busy as she readies for her second child, Nicole Richie was spotted running around Los Angeles over the weekend.

Wearing a casual pink ensemble, the former “Simple Life” starlet dropped by her Pilates class before grabbing a bite to eat at Sharky’s.

And while she’s already been down this path before, insiders tell that Miss Richie has been a bit emotional as of late.

“Her hormones have really been kicking in and Nicole has been crying at everything from movies, to TV shows and even commercials,” a source told press. “Joel [Madden]has been tiptoeing around her making sure he doesn’t upset her – but it doesn’t seem to be working.”

Nicole Richie has denied she will be making an album with Rihanna.

The mother-of-one – who is the adopted daughter of “Hello” singer Lionel Richie – insists reports claiming she is teaming up with the “Umbrella” singer and Kelly Osbourne to make an LP are not true, but admits she would like to launch a music career.

She said: “Although I think Rihanna and Kelly are very talented, the rumors are completely false. I do eventually want to record an album, but right now I have a lot on my plate.”

The star – who shot to fame alongside pal Paris Hilton in reality TV show “The Simple Life” – is concentrating on her acting career following a guest appearance on US drama series “Chuck” earlier this year.

Nicole added to People magazine: “I’ve really been working hard – going on auditions for acting, doing design for my line, and being a mom – so that pretty much takes up my days. Right now I’m reading scripts and really trying to take my work seriously.”

The busy 27-year-old – whose Good Charlotte rocker boyfriend Joel Madden has launched a new line of shoes with brother Benji – is also developing her portfolio of fashion accessories and is hoping to launch a clothing line in the future.

She said: “I’m going to do every accessory from sunglasses to belts to shoes. Clothing could be last just because it’s such a big job.”

“I’m really excited to be going full force into the world of design. It’s a lot of work, but I love it.”

She added to the USA Today newspaper: “She likes to dress up. You can see it in her face. She loves putting on tights and bows and stuff like that.”

“I’m not too caught up in her fashion at the moment. I just let her wear what’s comfortable for her. But she loves those tights!”

Nicole Richie and her former stylist Rachel Zoe have ended their feud.

The “The Simple Life” star – who reduced Rachel to tears after calling her nicknames including “raisin face” and “lettuce cup” on her MySpace page – was seen happily speaking to the fashionista at a Los Angeles store opening earlier this week.

An onlooker said: “Nicole and Rachel introduced their partners to each other. They talked for 20 minutes about real estate and the economy.”

Rachel was little known before her well-publicized war of words with Nicole.

Nicole Richie is a ”completely dedicated mom” according to Joel Madden.

The Good Charlotte rocker – who has an eight-month-old daughter Harlow with the star – is constantly surprised by Nicole’s parenting ability.

He said: “Nicole is completely dedicated. I do whatever she tells me to do. I’m cool with that.”

“She’s really good with the baby. I’m really good with finances. All of Harlow’s education and all that stuff, I already have planned.”

Nicole revealed having a baby has changed her life, saying: “I think my sense of self is still the same. But I don’t do things, we do things. I work around her.”

The 27-year-old beauty says her young child is already exhibiting characteristics of both her parents.

Nicole added: “Harlow’s a delicate soul. She studies people. She’s very coy. People say that she and I make the same expressions. But everyone says she looks like Joel.”

The couple also admitted they are considering extending their brood.

Joel told People magazine: “If it could be as easy as Harlow, then sure we will have more kids.”

Nicole Richie wants another baby.

The 26-year-old socialite is believed to have told Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, 29, to stay away from the actress after she was seen flirting with him at a recent dinner.

A source said: “During the dinner, Mary-Kate was very playful with Joel. It was all fun and games, but with the Olsens nothing is as simple as that.”

Paris Hilton has ruled out having a double wedding ceremony with Nicole Richie.

The hotel heiress – who is dating Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden – was rumored to be tying the knot at the same time as Nicole and her fiance Joel Madden, Benji’s twin brother, but insists she wouldn’t want to share the spotlight on her big day.

She said: “I’ve been hearing that rumor. But no, I think we both would want to have separate weddings.”

Paris added she is finding life “pretty perfect,” being in a foursome with Benji, Joel and Nicole.

She told Ryan Seacrest on US entertainment network E!: “It is weird – we’re dating twins but it’s pretty perfect. We are all going on tour this summer, so I’m really excited about that.”

Benji also revealed he has never been happier, and is thrilled to be in a relationship with Paris.

He told Seacrest during an interview on KIIS-FM radio: “I’m so beyond happy. Paris is my best friend. I’ve never been so happy. Nothing worries me in life anymore.”

The new mother received a Golden Pacifier Award from America’s Babytalk magazine.

Nicole – who gave birth to daughter Harlow Winter, her first child with rumored fiance Joel Madden, in January – was handed the accolade in recognition of her mothering skills.

Babytalk Editor-in-chief Lisa Moran said: “Honoring Nicole Richie with a Babytalk Golden Pacifier Award might come as a surprise to some, but we felt that she deserved some recognition for her turnaround since becoming a mom.”

She has also beaten heroin addiction and spent time in jail during her pregnancy after being convicted of driving under the influence (DUI).

Talk show host Ricki Lake also received a Golden Pacifier for her documentary about home birth, “The Business of Being Born.”

Lisa said: “We gave Ricki Lake a Golden Pacifier this year for bravely sharing her birthing experience in ‘The Business of Being Born,’ sparking a much-needed conversation about the state of modern childbirth.”

A fashionably late Paris Hilton declared Harvard to be “hot” Wednesday when she stopped by the world-famous university to pick up the Harvard Lampoon’s Woman of the Year award.

Hilton, after arriving about an hour later than scheduled, stood on the steps of the comedy magazine’s castle and told about 100 onlookers that “You guys rock. Harvard is hot!”

At one point the hotel heiress tried to dupe the crowd by telling them her on-again-off-again friend Nicole Ritchie was with her, before saying, “Just kidding.”

The presentation of the award to Hilton came one day before Harvard’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals planned to bestow their Woman of the Year award on actress Charlize Theron.

The hotel heiress has appeared on television and in movies, and is also an author, singer and perfume designer.

Actress Michelle Rodriguez began a 180-day jail term in Los Angeles on Sunday for probation violation, the second Hollywood celebrity after Kiefer Sutherland to face a Christmas incarceration.

According to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. records, the former “Lost” star checked in to Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, south of downtown Los Angeles, under her given name, Mayte. Michelle is her middle name.

Rodriguez must serve the full stretch in the overcrowded jail, where sentences for minor crimes are often cut short. In November, actress Lindsay Lohan served 84 minutes of a 1-day sentence, while reality TV starlet Nicole Richie was released 80 minutes into her 4-day term in August.

A judge sentenced Rodriguez in October for violating her probation on previous drunken-driving and hit-and-run offenses, and specified that she not be granted work furlough, early release or home confinement.

Rodriguez admitted failing to complete community service obligations. She was also found to have consumed alcohol on at least three occasions while wearing a monitoring bracelet around her ankle, in violation of a probation requirement that she refrain from drinking for 90 days.

The probation violation stems from a 2004 plea of no contest — the equivalent of guilty — to three traffic offenses in Los Angeles, including hit-and-run and drunken driving violations. She was previously sentenced to 60 days in jail for a probation violation in May 2006, but was released after just four hours and 20 minutes due to overcrowding.

Rodriguez rose to fame in 2000, playing a feisty pugilist in the indie film “Girlfight.” She went on to star in such movies as “The Fast and the Furious” and “Blue Crush.” Her “Lost” character, police officer Ana-Lucia Cortez, was killed off after about two dozen episodes.

Sutherland, the star of the action series “24,” began a 48-day term in another Los Angeles-area jail on December 5 for drunken driving.

Katie Holmes haircut has topped the ‘Hot Hair’ poll of tinsel town’s leading ladies. The poll was conducted by Life and Style magazine, which judged Holmes’ style the best especially as it “shows off her cheekbones”.

Coming in close on Holmes’ heels in second place was Gwyneth Paltrow with her “straight style”, reports Contactmusic.

Pregnant socialite Nicole Richie was ‘pleasantly surprised’ when she was released from prison within 82 minutes of her four-day jail sentence.

Richie, who was jailed for a second DUI conviction, was booked, released and sent home Thursday at the Century Regional Facility in Lynwood, California.

Shawn Chapman Holley, Richie’s attorney, claims she was surprised by her early release and was actually prepared to serve a four-day sentence.

‘Nicole was aware that most people with sentences similar to hers are booked and released in a matter of hours and she was hoping to be treated like everyone else,’ hollywood.com quoted Holley as saying.

‘Nevertheless, she was prepared to serve her entire four-day sentence had the Sheriff’s Department required her to do so,’ he added.

Nicole Richie was released from jail Thursday after serving 82 minutes of a four-day sentence for driving under the influence of drugs.

The reality show star, who checked into a women’s jail at 3:15 p.m., was released at 4:37 p.m. “based on her sentence and federal guidelines,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Maribel Rizo said without elaborating.

Under a federal court mandate to manage jail overcrowding, arrestees sentenced to 30 days or less for a nonviolent offense are usually released within 12 hours, the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Under the guidelines, Richie was “treated in the same manner as other inmates with a similar sentence,” the statement said.
Richie, 25, was originally sentenced to 96 hours in jail, but that was reduced to 90 hours because of time served when she was arrested.

Richie arrived at jail with her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley and her boyfriend, Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden. Her time at the Century Regional Detention Facility was spent getting booked, including taking a mugshot and submitting her fingerprints, Holley said.
She didn’t reach her jail cell.

“She was really treated like any other inmate,” Holley said. “I think every inmate in her position, with that type of charge, would have been treated as she was.”

Richie served her 82 minutes at the county jail in suburban Lynwood, the same place her “The Simple Life” co-star Paris Hilton was housed for nearly three weeks after she was convicted of driving on a suspended license while on probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

Richie was arrested on Dec. 11, 2006, after witnesses reported seeing her black Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle headed the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank. The California Highway Patrol said they found her parked in the car pool lane.
Richie pleaded guilty in July to a misdemeanor DUI charge in a deal with prosecutors that helped her avoid a potential year in jail because it was a second driving-under-the-influence conviction.

Her first conviction was in 2003 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Richie, the daughter of Lionel Richie, told authorities after being arrested in December that she had smoked marijuana and taken the prescription painkiller Vicodin, a CHP officer said at the time. No drugs were found on her or in her car.

Richie, 25, the waif-like daughter of singer Lionel Richie who co-stars with Hilton on the reality series “The Simple Life,” was ordered to serve her time by September 28, but it was not immediately clear when or where she would be incarcerated.

She also was fined $2,048, placed on three years probation and was ordered to enroll in a court-supervised rehabilitation program for two-time offenders.

Because of a 2003 DUI conviction, Richie had faced a mandatory sentence of up to a year in jail if found guilty in a trial that was set to begin next month.

Appearing calm and composed and wearing a lose-fitting black shift dress with oversized sunglasses, she was accompanied to court by bodyguards and her boyfriend, singer Joel Madden of the rock band Good Charlotte.

Media interest in Richie’s case intensified in recent weeks with reports circulating in celebrity magazines and the tabloid press that she is several months pregnant by Madden and plans to marry him. Those reports have not been confirmed.

During Friday’s proceedings, Superior Court Commissioner Steven Lubell twice warned Richie that she could end up doing 12 months behind bars if she violates her probation.

“The court views this plea agreement as a contract,” he told her. “If you violate the terms of this agreement, you can and you will go to county jail for more time than the court is giving you today.”

He added: “Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs while driving is extremely dangerous.”
The only words uttered by Richie during the hearing was “guilty” when asked how she pleaded to a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs, and “yes” when asked if she acknowledged her previous conviction.

All references to alcohol in the latest case were dropped under the plea arrangement.
Emerging from the courthouse in the suburban Los Angeles city of Glendale, Richie walked past a phalanx of reporters and camera crews without saying a word and was whisked away in a sport utility vehicle.

Richie’s plea deal stemmed from a traffic stop in December in which police said she was seen driving the wrong way on a Los Angeles freeway. Officers said she failed a field sobriety test and admitted she had smoked marijuana and taken the prescription painkiller Vicodin.

The Dec. 11 stop came six weeks after it was revealed the rail-thin actress had checked herself into a treatment facility to address weight-loss issues. An arrest report at the time said the 5-foot-1 celeb weighed just 85 pounds.

Hilton was released from jail on June 26 after serving 22 days for violating her probation in a drunken-driving case.

Prosecutors also want Hilton to stay away from alcohol for 90 days and wear a monitoring device that will chart whether she complies. And they are seeking to have her license suspended for an additional four months.

The recommendation will be reviewed by a judge when Hilton appears for a probation violation hearing on Friday. The judge can accept it or impose a different penalty. The maximum penalty is 90 days in jail.

City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo said Hilton is being treated the same as anyone else.

“Anyone who would have conducted themselves in a way that resulted in this set of facts, we would have made the same recommendation of 45 days in county jail, regardless of whether they were a celebrity or not,” he said Thursday.

Delgadillo said he is requesting Hilton serve her time in the county jail, but where she is incarcerated is up to the judge. He said Hilton could request to be housed in a jail of her choice but if the judge grants that she would be required to pay the costs of her incarceration.

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

Hilton said she had only a single margarita at a charity event that evening but may have been “speeding a little bit” while on her way to get a hamburger.

A no-contest plea is not an admission of guilt but is equivalent to a guilty plea for determining sentencing. She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops are what landed Hilton back in court.

On Jan. 15 she was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed Hilton she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive, according to court papers.

She then was stopped by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies on Feb. 27 and charged with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton’s spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time she wasn’t aware her license was suspended. A call Thursday to Mintz was not immediately returned.

Prosecutors say by signing the document after the first incident Hilton knew she was not to drive. They also note that as of April 17 she had yet to enroll in the required alcohol education program.

Hilton, heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, first gained notoriety for her hard partying as a teen. She attracted worldwide attention when a sex tape she made with a boyfriend was released on the Internet.

She stars in the E! reality-TV series, “The Simple Life,” now in its fifth season, with
Nicole Richie. She appeared in the 2005 film, “House of Wax” and recently finished filming “The Hottie and the Nottie.” She also is a handbag designer and has a namesake perfume.

Nicole Richie’s recent collapses on the set of ”The Simple Life” are the result of low blood sugar levels.

The 25-year-old star was hospitalized for dehydration earlier this month and allegedly collapsed again on the set of her reality show last week.

Nicole is now said to have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia.

A representative for the star said: “In her ongoing effort to focus on her well-being, Nicole has recently discovered she has hypoglycemia.”

“She is taking steps to manage it. Nicole has reported to work each day and the results have been fantastic.”

A “Simple Life” source said: “Four or five times she’s felt really faint and almost passed out. She has to go into her trailer for a good part of the day.”

Nicole, the adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie, announced in October she was seeking treatment for an “inability to gain weight.”

She is currently facing charges of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) after she was stopped by police in December for driving the wrong way on a California Highway.

She admitted to police she had smoked marijuana and taken the strong painkiller Vicodin.
