Britney Spears stormed off stage because the arena was too smoky last night (April 8, 2009).

The “Toxic” singer, who is a smoker, had only performed three songs during her show in Vancouver, Canada, when she walked off for over 40 minutes.

Shocked concertgoers were then told the concert would not continue if people continued to smoke cigarettes and marijuana in the arena as it was “unsafe” for Britney and her performers.

A source said: “We were concerned for the lighting guys and everyone else working on the show.”

Britney then returned to the stage and continued with the show, much to the relief of the thousands of fans who splashed out on tickets for her “Circus” tour.

After the concert, the 27-year-old singer told the audience: “Thanks Vancouver. You were wonderful. Drive safe. Don’t smoke weed!”

said: “We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show for the brief pause in Britney’s set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue.”

Robbie Williams is ready to rejoin Take That.

The “Angels” singer – who sensationally quit the group 14 years ago – has settled his differences with lead singer Gary Barlow and the rest of the band want him back.

He told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “Let’s see what happens, but my head’s in the right place, so the timing could be right if Gary calls.”

“I think it would be fun. It would be good. I’m in regular contact with them, even Gary, so it’s looking more likely by the week.”

“The lads seem up for it and some people think it’s a done deal.”

Robbie is keen for the reunion to happen in the near future, saying: “It would make sense for it to happen some time over the next year.”

Robbie left Take That in the summer of 1995 and while the band initially carried on as a four-piece, they split the following year.

The group – which also consists of Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald – reunited in 2005 and have gone on to enjoy huge success, including UK number one albums and sold-out tours.

Mark recently spoke of how much he would love to welcome Robbie back to the group.

He said: “It would be brilliant if he came back some day. There’s nothing missing without him in a musical sense, but still it would be so great.”

“I think we’d all have Rob back tomorrow if he wanted it and the time felt right.”

However, Gary admitted he didn’t expect a full Take That reunion to happen on this year’s tour.

He said: “Robbie will not be coming on tour with us because he has got his own things to do. But we are not ruling out getting together with him beyond that.”

Rihanna has been house hunting in the Hollywood Hills.

The “Take a Bow” singer reportedly spent Monday (February 23, 2009) looking at properties in the same exclusive area of Los Angeles where celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Richie and Cameron Diaz live, according to X17Online.

Singer Tyrese Gibson – who is close to the 19-year-old singer – said the charges looming over him have left him struggling.

Tyrese told People magazine: “Although he appears to be really strong through all of this, it’s really taking a toll on his spirit.”

“People like me and Diddy are just trying to show him love and keep his spirits up while he’s going through all of the heat, and there are a lot people doing the same for Rihanna.”

Rihanna is back in the studio recording new material, producer Adonis Shropshire told entertainment site Hip Hollywood.

According to the producer, who has won Grammys for his work with artists such as Usher and Mariah Carey, Rihanna is using music as a refuge while dealing with the ongoing court case against her boyfriend, Chris Brown.

“With anybody who goes through something in the world, you have to bring yourself out of it, so I guess her refuge is her music,” Adonis told the site. “You have to remember, she’s a kid still.”

Rihanna, 21, has reportedly reunited with Brown following his alleged assault on her on February 8, though the two have yet to be sighted together since the incident. On Saturday night, an Access Hollywood staffer spotted Rihanna enjoying dinner at posh Italian eatery Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi with no sign of the “Kiss Kiss” singer.

Brown has been charged with one count each of assault and making criminal threats and appeared in court on March 5, when his arraignment was pushed until April 6.

But Adonis said that Rihanna is spending her time in the studio focusing on new material, which he claims will be an improvement on her 2007 hit album, “Good Girl Gone Bad.”

“She always brings her best whenever she steps onto the stage or the studio,” he said. “This is definitely going to be an eclipse of what she’s done before. It’s going to be hot.”

A spokesman for Amy Winehouse says the singer won’t perform in the United States next month, as had been planned.

Spokesman Chris Goodman said Monday that Winehouse isn’t going to the Coachella festival in Indio, Calif., in “light of current legal issues.”

Winehouse was charged with assault last week for allegedly attacking a fan at a London party in September. The singer is due in court next week.

Being charged with a crime often makes it difficult for people to get U.S. visas.

Winehouse’s battles with addiction and frequent run-ins with the law have been highly publicized.

Last year, the U.S. government declined to give her a visa to attend the Grammy awards. The decision was reversed but too late for her to go.

Kelly Clarkson wants to duet with Adele.

The “My Life Would Suck Without You” singer has revealed she would love to sing alongside the “incredible” Adele.

She said: “I love coming to the UK and picking up new music. I hope to do something with Adele. I love her voice so much, she’s just incredible.”

Jay-Z is coming to the defense of his friend and colleague, Rihanna, in the wake of her alleged violent attack at the hands of boyfriend Chris Brown.

While speaking with reporters during NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix, Ariz., the hip-hop mogul, who first signed Rihanna to his label during his tenure as President of Island Def Jam back in 2004, pleaded with the media to handle the situation – and those involved – with sensitivity.

“It’s not a sound bite. This is a real situation,” Jay-Z told reporters. “If you can’t have compassion for others, just imagine it being your sister or your mom or someone like that. Then think about how you should talk about that.”

In urging the press to handle the story with care, Jay-Z also reminded everyone that despite the fact Rihanna is a global superstar, she is still just a 20-year-old woman.

“I think we all should just support her. She’s going through a tough time,” he added. “You’ve got to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young.”

Over the weekend, Rihanna’s father spoke to People about his daughter – and said the public may soon hear her side of the story.

Meanwhile, Britney’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib allegedly tried to run over a man who was trying to serve him with court papers.

Police say the victim “ended up on the hood of the car, then fell off when Ghalib drove away, and ended up with scratches and bruises.”

A report for assault with a deadly weapon was taken and police are waiting to question Adnan.

The “Umbrella” singer – who is believed to have suffered a bloody nose, facial bruising and a split lip after Chris allegedly attacked her in his car on Sunday (February 8, 2009) – is said to have opened up to the police about the nature of her violent relationship with the 19-year-old singer.

According to gossip website TMZ, Rihanna has confirmed Sunday’s argument started when Chris – who has been charged with making criminal threats and released on $50,000 bail – received a text message from another girl.

As the row escalated Chris began hitting her. She then ordered him to drive her home before “faking” a call to a friend, during which she said things like: “He’s dropping me off. Make sure the cops are there.”

The singer claims the call make Chris even angrier, causing him to shout: “You are really f***ed up now. I’m going to kill you.”

He then began beating her with his fists.

Police are now said to be investigating whether Chris previously hurt Rihanna.

Officers are also allegedly looking into whether Chris caused Rihanna’s scratched cornea – which forced her to wear an eye patch – last year.

A police source said: “We’re investigating if her eye injury could have been caused by Brown.”

“There could be an innocent explanation – but police believe Rihanna has previously refused to make a complaint against Brown.”

“She is now being asked about her previous injuries and is beginning to open up about incidents in their relationship.”

A Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) source added: “We’re talking to her friends and management, who say she’s appeared with mysterious marks or injuries before, but always refused to explained what happened.”

Chris Brown’s cousin has spoken out in support of the star, insisting he must have been “provoked” into the alleged attack.

Phylicia Thompson said: “Chris was not brought up to beat on a woman. So it had to be something to provoke him for Chris to do it.”

“He wouldn’t have done it just to be having fun…But what happens behind closed doors, nobody ever knows.”

“He might feel down right now because his fans are looking down on him, like he’s done something wrong.”

“Of course, yes, he’s done something wrong because he put his hands on her, but like I said, you don’t know what happened.”

Singer Lily Allen has reportedly split from her boyfriend Ed Simons just week after suffering a miscarriage.

The 22-year-old had discovered she was pregnant with the Chemical Brothers star’s baby just a month after they began dating.

But it has emerged that the strain of Lily’s miscarriage damaged the coupling, with Simons, 37, allegedly ending the relationship after failed attempts to recover their romance.

“They tried to make things work but couldn’t,” a friend told the Sun newspaper

“The miscarriage was a horrible experience for both of them – and in recent weeks the mood between them had been really strained.”

The source added: “Lily is really upset things haven’t worked out for her and Ed. She had talked about settling down for good and having a family.

“But there is a big age difference and the heartbreak they had to cope with was too much too early in their relationship.”

After the revelation of her pregnancy in December, Allen even said she was willing to retire in her mid-20s in order to focus on raising a family.

She told the Sun: “I’ve looked forward to being stable my whole life. My parents are amazing, but it has been a whirlwind upbringing.

“I have got my eye on the prize, which is having kids and getting married and cooking dinner and doing homework with my children.”

Teenage singer Miley Cyrus has expanded the scope of her alter-ego, pop sensation Hannah Montana, into U.S. theaters for just one week.

After finding great success with the Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana” and an accompanying U.S. musical tour, Cyrus’ two personalities can now be seen on the big screen in a 3-D concert film, The Boston Globe reported Saturday.

The limited release film features Cyrus performing as Montana for a series of the most popular songs from her 55-city “Best of Both Worlds” tour. Cyrus then sings her own music for the movie’s second half.

The concert film, like the U.S. tour, also includes a lavish stage complete with multiple video screens and pyrotechnics, along with an appearance from the tour’s accompanying band, the Jonas Brothers.

Yet unlike the tour, the concert film allows the young fans of “Montana” to see back stage as the camera follows Cyrus as the young singer prepares for her performances, the Globe reported.

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has set up a charity to help save whales off the coast of Japan.

Panettiere joined protestors last year but could not stop fisherman from hurting sea life. Contactmusic.com reports that she was even caught on camera crying about her failed efforts while she defended herself from angry fishermen’s harpoons.

She is now using her fame to lend a hand to the cause. She launched the website panettierecloset.com where she will sell off items from her wardrobe. All proceeds will go to the ‘Save the Whales Again’ campaign.

Britney Spears, the troubled singer, has left a note reading: “Perhaps it would be better if I was dead.”

A friend found the letter, which revealed the pop star’s fears that she cannot live up to the expectations of her family and fans, in her bathroom after she was rushed to a hospital earlier this month following a child custody dispute.

The 26-year-old suffers from manic depression and possibly multiple personality disorder, a source close to the singer told The Sun.

The source said: “The letter was very sad. Britney talked about her loneliness, how unfair life is and not being able to trust people.

“She wrote about how she will never be what people want her to be. She said, ‘Perhaps it would be better if I was dead’.”

According to the source, the friend, who thought the letter a “cry for help”, confronted Spears about it, but she laughed it off. “Everybody thinks about death,” she reportedly said.

Spear’s melt-down earlier this month followed a three-hour stand-off with a bodyguard of her former husband, Kevin Federline, as she refused to hand over their children.

Following the dispute, a judge suspended her already limited visitation rights for Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James.

Earlier this week the singer missed a chance to persuade a judge to restore her visitation rights when she arrived almost four hour late and then refused to enter the building.

Vanessa Hudgens has settled a breach-of-contract lawsuit filed against her by a former lawyer.

It emerged in December that the High School Musical starlet was being sued by ex-attorney Brian Schall, over $150,000 (£75,000) in back commissions, after he helped her become a household name and earn over $5 million (£2.5million) from her music career.

Vanessa challenged the claims, insisting that Schall’s work was “below professional standard”, and that, since she was only 16 at the time of signing the contract with him, she was too young for it to hold legal weight.

Columbian singer, songwriter, actress Shakira turned down a role in a movie because it involved nudity.

The new movie, Love In The Time Of Cholera, has a nude scene, which would require Shakira to strip naked.

The 30-year-old singer, who has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her soundtrack for the Mike Newell film, revealed that Gabriel Garcia Marquez, who wrote the original book, wanted her to do the main part.

However Shakira has turned the offer down, as she was scared doing a nude scene might anger her parents.
