Liam Neeson has returned to work for the first time since his wife died.

The grieving actor is back on the Canadian set of his upcoming movie “Chloe,” which he was filming when Natasha Richardson was injured during a skiing lesson on March 16.

Liam has reportedly “thrown himself” back into work, but film sources say he is having trouble hiding his grief when the cameras are off.

Representatives for Liam have confirmed filming is now complete.

The 56-year-old actor dashed to be with Natasha after she was hospitalized in Montreal, before flying her to New York so family and friends could say goodbye.

The producers of “Chloe” quickly rearranged filming schedules to allow Liam to attend Natasha’s funeral in New York on March 22 and to comfort the couple’s sons Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12.

Natasha’s sister Joely Richardson has also returned to work on US TV movie “The Day Of The Triffids.”

Her mother Vanessa Redgrave has pushed a charity performance in New York back from April to October because she is too upset.

Sean Penn is to star in ”The Three Stooges.”

The Oscar-winning actor is reportedly set to play Larry alongside Jim Carrey as Curly and Benicio del Toro as leader Moe in the movie spin-off of the classic slapstick comedy series.

“There’s Something About Mary” writers the Farrelly brothers have written the script and recently claimed the movie is exactly what the world needs in times of economic crisis.

Peter Farrelly said: “When the economy started turning, we felt like the world could use a Stooges slapfest.”

“Bobby and I haven’t done a real physical comedy in a while, and it’s the most exciting thing we could think of now, to have people go to the movie, see some great slapstick fun family humor.”

Shooting will begin on the film in the autumn, with a scheduled release date of early 2010.

As well as “The Three Stooges,” Sean is also set star alongside Naomi Watts in “Fair Game” later this year.

The actor is in negotiations to play Ambassador Joseph Wilson in the movie about the Ambassador’s wife, CIA spy Valerie Plame.

The movie is based on Valerie’s book “Fair Game: My Life as a Spy, My Betrayal by the White House” which discusses how she was dismissed from the CIA after 20 years of service after she accused the Bush administration of lying about weapons of mass destruction in her newspaper column.

Anne Hathaway will play Judy Garland in a new biopic.

The 26-year-old actress will portray the iconic performer in both the movie and stage adaptations of Gerald Clarke’s biography “Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland.”

Harvey Weinstein, of The Weinstein Company who secured the film and stage rights of the book, is delighted to have Anne on board.

He said: “We are thrilled to have the brilliantly talented Anne Hathaway portray stage and screen legend Judy Garland.”

“I have worked with Anne on projects in the past and have known her for many years. She will be a true class act in this challenging role.”

“Gerald Clarke’s biography is a fascinating and comprehensive look at Garland’s life and is particularly outstanding because of its exclusive details from her own writings.”

“Her story is incredible subject matter for both theater and film and we look forward to bringing it to audiences.”

It is unclear whether the stage production or movie will be produced first.

Russell Brand is set to star with Anthony Hopkins in a remake of ”Arthur.”

The 33-year-old comedian is playing the role made famous by Dudley Moore, while the 71-year-old screen legend has been tipped for the role of a wise-cracking butler Hobson.

A source said: “There’s no one finer, we think, than Hopkins for the role. He exudes everything the Americans love about Brits – refined, charming, educated, well-spoken. We will give our best offer, and then some, to get him.”

Serial lothario Russell – who confirmed last week he will play the womanizing title character in the new version of the popular 80s movie – recently claimed he wants movie producers to allow 63-year-old Liza Minnelli to reprise her role as Arthur’s love interest.

He quipped: “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, that’s my motto. Liza should come back.”

Jennifer Aniston is being considered for a role in the next James Bond film.

The 40-year-old actress – who recently expressed an interest in appearing in the British spy film franchise – is set to be offered a screen test for the follow up to “Quantum of Solace” which will star Daniel Craig as James Bond.

A source at EON, the production company which makes the James Bond films, said: “Jennifer has all the qualities we are looking for in a Bond girl. She has to be beautiful but she also needs to have brains.”

“It helps if she’s athletic and able to keep up with intense stunt work a Bond movie demands.”

“It is likely she’ll be called in to meet producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson soon.”

Jennifer previously said of her Bond aspirations: “I get offered funny, quirky, pretty roles. But I’d love to do an action movie. James Bond – glamor. Daniel Craig. Sh*t-loads of fun.”

Freida Pinto is being lined up to star in the next James Bond film.

The “Slumdog Millionaire” actress has reportedly been invited for a screen test for the next film in the spy series by producer Barbara Broccoli.

Freida, 24, was first noticed when bosses were casting Bond girls for the last film “Quantum of Solace,” in which Daniel Craig plays the suave spy.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Freida came to the attention of the team when they were casting ‘Quantum of Solace.’”

“She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent.”

“But she has blossomed into an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect on Daniel’s arm.”

Earlier this month, it was revealed Broccoli is also keen to sign up “Slumdog Millionaire” director Danny Boyle to helm the next movie.

If Boyle lands the job it is believed he would be keen to reunite with Freida.

The source added: “Danny is favorite to direct the next movie, which would increase Freida’s chances of a starring role.”

Freida has been offered a number of high profile contracts with fashion houses since starring in the film – which won eight Oscars – and is reported to have signed up to star in Woody Allen’s next project.

Reese Witherspoon’s son wanted to kill things after watching her new movie.

The blonde actress was amazed when a trip to see “Monsters vs Aliens” – in which she voices the character of Susan, a woman who swells to 42ft 11ins tall and then helps save the planet from an alien invasion – brought out Deacon’s violent tendencies.

Reese – who has nine-year-old daughter Ava and five-year-old son Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – told BANG Showbiz: “I took my kids to see it a couple of week’s ago.”

“As I was driving home from the theater I said to my children in the back seat, ‘So, what do you think is the message in this movie?’”

“My daughter really thoughtfully said, ‘I think it’s about never letting someone underestimate you and always living up to your true potential.’ I said, ‘That is so astute, yes, Ava, that is exactly what the message is.’”

Then I said, “Deacon, what do you think the movie is about? Friendship? Being an outsider?”

He said, “I think it’s about… I think it’s about when octopus aliens come to your planet you got to make sure you kill them.’”

Despite the effect the movie had on her son, 5ft 1ins Reese has no regrets about starring in it because it allowed her to realize one long-held ambition – to be tall.

She explained: “I appreciated it being somewhat regular sized – actually, I’m a little short.”

“I think it would be such a dream to be able to be walk into any store and to be able to buy jeans that fit, to buy tall jeans that would be nice.”

The “Monsters vs Aliens” star is adamant there are life forms on other planets and cannot understand how people can think humans are the only intelligent race in the universe.

Speaking at the UK premiere of the animated movie in London’s Leicester Square last night (March 11, 2009), Kiefer told BANG Showbiz: “Maybe aliens don’t exist in the form they take in the movie, but I think it would be pretty arrogant to think that we are the only people or things in the universe.”

The 42-year-old actor – who voices the character of General W.R. Monger, a military man who is delighted when his band of incarcerated monsters are used to fight an alien race invading Earth – also revealed he was nervous about attending the premiere in the UK capital.

He said: “I’m a bit nervous to be honest. I don’t think I’ve seen this many people for a single event in a long time. I’m just about breathing properly again.”

Kiefer walked the specially created blue carpet with his co-star Reese Witherspoon – who voices Susan, a woman who grows to 42ft 11ins when she is hit by a meteor – and both spent time signing autographs and meeting fans.

Joining the stars on the carpet were two of the monsters from the film – a woman on stilts delighted fans by appearing as Susan, while a super-sized version of the gelatinous B.O.B also posed for pictures.

Kiefer admitted making the movie was unlike anything he has ever experience before, but came as a welcome relief from his role as tough guy Jack Bauer in US TV show “24.”

He explained: “I was making ‘24′ when we made ‘Monsters vs Aliens’ and just to be able to get out of the grind of what ‘24′ can be and spend six hours joking around, laughing, trying to be funny, it was such a breath of fresh air.”

The actor also cleared up one of the great mysterious of “24,” saying: “Does Jack wear a catheter? No, he does not. He uses the restroom when they’re shooting other scenes.”

“Watchmen” clocked in with $55.7 million in ticket sales to claim the top spot at the box office, making director Zack Snyder’s comic book adaptation about a team of twisted superheros the biggest opening of 2009 so far.

Still, it was not quite as big as the $70 million take of Snyder’s “300” in 2007.

Dan Fellman, head of distribution for “Watchmen” studio Warner Bros., said it was unfair to compare the two films.

“They’re two different movies,” Fellman said Sunday. “This is a movie that runs two hours and 45 minutes. That really only leaves the exhibitor with one showing a night. If you have an 8 o’clock show, the next show is at midnight. So with essentially one show a night, I think this is outstanding.”

Fans of the subversive comic book series by writer Alan Moore and illustrator DaveGibbons waited years for Snyder’s big-screen version. The anticipation was complicated last year when Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox fought over who owned rights to the $125 million film. The studios eventually settled in January, keeping the March 6 opening intact.

Many “Watchmen” enthusiasts raced to IMAX theaters to see the exploits of Dr. Manhattan and company on the bigger screens. Greg Foster, chairman and president of IMAX Filmed Entertainment, said the movie sold out on all 124 IMAX screens it was playing on during the weekend and was the second largest opening in company history behind another superhero film, 2008’s “The Dark Knight.”

With no other new releases to compete against, “Watchmen” easily bumped off “Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail,” which had held the top spot the two previous weekends. The Lionsgate comedy took in $8.8 million, good for second place, according to studio estimates Sunday. 20th Century Fox’s “Taken,” starring Liam Neeson, took the No. 3 position with $7.5 million.

For the year, movie attendance continues to soar, with revenue at $1.9 billion, up 16 percent through the same point in 2008. Even factoring in 2009’s higher ticket prices, movie attendance is running 14 percent higher than last year.

Disney’s “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” dropped from No. 2 to No. 9 at the box office.

“There have been some casualties this year,” said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box office tracker Media By Numbers. “Not every film can be a hit — even during this box-office bonanza we’re having right now. It dropped about 78 percent the second weekend. It’s a young audience. The ones that wanted to see the Jonas Brothers came out last weekend.”

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC. Final figures will be released Monday.

Keira Knightley has been playing agony aunt to heartbroken actor Colin Farrell.

Keira, who is to star opposite Colin in forthcoming film “London Boulevard,” has recently been consoling Colin following his split from novelist Emma Forrest.

Former hellraiser Colin, 32, is said to be distraught after he was dumped by Emma following a year-long relationship and has turned to Keira, who he had been in touch with regarding their roles.

A source said: “Keira thought it would be helpful to speak to Colin about their parts but she has been trying to support him through girlfriend troubles.”

“She says it has helped her understand the man she is going to play opposite and is delighted to have connected with him so well.”

The Girls Aloud singer recently befriended the estranged wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and would love the chance to portray the former model on the big screen.

She said: “Jo is amazing. She’s my new favorite person. She’s had such an extraordinary life. It’s fascinating. Her stories are unbelievable. They’d make a wicked film.”

Director Nikhil Advani, who has been shooting hectically in China for his new action-comedy Chandni Chowk To China, has confirmed that Deepika Padukone is playing a double role in the movie.

A new film sheds light on how sibling rivalry can turn your closest friend into your most hated foe, writes Deirdre Reynolds

She’s supposed to be your closest friend and confidante. Yet in reality, she’s often the biggest bitch you’ve ever met in your life.

The latest film to hit cinemas here shows how the harmless hair-pulling that goes on between young sisters across the world can degenerate into full-blown battle.

Based on the best-selling novel by Philippa Gregory, The Other Boleyn Girl charts one of the most explosive cases of sibling rivalry in history. It tells the tale of aristocratic sisters Anne and Mary Boleyn, who went to war over sex-mad monarch King Henry VIII in the 16th century. And the true story, starring Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, reveals how women who are flung together by birth can wind up becoming bitter rivals rather than bosom buddies.

For sisters flocking to see the flick together over the weekend, there may have been a few moments of uncomfortable silence. And while pinching your clothes, helping themselves to the last of your favourite perfume, or eyeing up your man might not be on the same level as tearing the heart of the Tudor palace in two, they underline the complex blend of backstabbing and loyalty that define sisterhood, according to psychologist Dorothy Rowe.

Party girl pals/catfight combatants Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie may have propelled the term ‘frenemy’ to the urban dictionary, but for its origins look no further than your own family.

Dr Rowe, who wrote My Dearest Enemy, My Dangerous Friend: Making and Breaking Sibling Bonds, reckons most women both love and loathe their skin and blister at various times throughout their life.

“The reason I came up with the title was to try and encapsulate that deeply ambivalent relationship between most siblings,” she added.

“Up to now, psychologists and therapists have been looking at the relationship between the child and mother; but while doing that, they’ve steadfastly ignored the relationship between siblings.

“Yet we all know how important siblings are — they’re the people we have the longest relationship with and it doesn’t matter how old you get, the connection is always there. I decided to look at how siblings form an attachment to one another and explain the dynamic that develops.”

And although the study looks at both brothers and sisters, Dr Rowe says things usually get more complicated between the girls.

“Siblings can demolish us,” she added. “You know those frequent occurrences, when your sister says something which to an outsider might seem quite banal, but you’ve been struck through the heart with an arrow by it.

“You know the other so well. They know the things that upset you most and those that give you deepest pleasure.

“The book is about both brothers and sisters, but I think women talk about it more. A lot of men aren’t troubled by not keeping up with relatives or they leave it to their wives.”

Just because you’re related, there’s no guarantee you’re going to get on, Dr Rowe explained. But whether you bond or bicker, your filial feelings could colour your relationships for the rest of your life.

“If you look at conflicts around the world, the ones that are hardest to resolve involve some kind of family relationship,” she said. “The war between the Israelis and Palestinians is effectively a family squabble. Likewise, in Northern Ireland, Catholics and Protestants fought throughout the years but they also bedded each other. There’s no genetic difference between these groups and they row like siblings.”

She added: “Siblings are our first peer group, so even when we go to school and work we often see others in terms of our relationship with them — sometimes causing us to make really bad mistakes. For instance, if you’ve got a female boss, you might immediately assume she’s going to be as nasty to you or look after you the way your sister did.”

And sibling rivalry starts the second an interloper arrives in the house to steal the affections of mum and dad. Whether you’re the halo-wearing first born, overshadowed middle-child or attention-seeking youngest, your placement in the clan can determine whether you enjoy girly get-togethers with your sis, or barely stand the sight of each other in the years to come, says Rowe.

“When you’re an only child, you’re in this nice situation of being treated like a prince or princess by your parents or grandparents. Suddenly, this thing turns up and you’re displaced, and it can cause tremendous trauma for the child — even when the parents deal with it well.

“I remember one young woman who found out she was pregnant with her second child and did all the things you’re supposed to, like telling her daughter about the baby in mummy’s tummy, involving her in shopping for the baby and giving her a present the day the baby was born. She thought everything was fine until her daughter turned around and said, ‘Couldn’t you have kept that thing inside you for another while?’”

She added: “The older sibling is a trailblazer, while the younger ones test the limits set by them. Within families, there’s usually a ‘good’ sibling and a ‘bad’ one and it can be difficult to break out of that mould.”

No matter how many years pass, it can be impossible to view your sister as anyone other that the girl who mutilated your beloved teddy bear, snitched to your parents when you smoked pot in college, or beat you down the aisle, Dr Rowe revealed: “Most people I spoke to say that when they’re with their siblings, they feel like a swan — calm on the surface but paddling underneath.”

And society may frown on it, but don’t be afraid to give a malicious sis the flick.

The author, who confessed to having a tumultuous relationship with her own big sister, said: “Women can feel guilty if they haven’t fulfilled what is expected of them by society and so they maintain a relationship with a difficult sibling and do things for them they wouldn’t for a troublesome friend.

“We get caught up in this thing of blood being thicker than water. But I think you’ve got to work out the cost of keeping in touch with someone who really isn’t on your side. If she was a friend who was consistently horrible, you’d drop her.”

But provided she isn’t trying to get her claws into your hubbie, a la Anne Boleyn, it is possible to make her a mate — and not just a relation.

And in spite of the contradictory concoction of devotion, rage, envy, competitiveness and loyalty they inspire, sisters can be the best friend a girl will ever have.

Dr Rowe joked: “I think sisters are more likely to row over who’s got the better job nowadays, than over a man like the Boleyns! But once there isn’t an insurmountable level of resentment there, it’s possible to have a great relationship and look after each other in that way that only sisters do.”

If there was one person who should never have been allowed near Heathrow Terminal 5 this week it was the supermodel Naomi Campbell. Nearly 500 flights have been cancelled since the British Airways terminal opened on Monday, at a cost to the airline of £16m, and up to 28,000 bags have been mislaid. And then along comes the supermodel famous for airport “incidents” from London to Bogota.

She may have been to a court-ordered anger management course – after flinging a phone at her Park Avenue apartment maid – but no one ever said the course had worked. Fireworks were inevitable.

At 17.11 on Thursday, according to Heathrow police, they were alerted to an incident at Terminal 5. Campbell was missing a bag – either a heavy suitcase, according to some reports, or a piece of hand luggage. One report, which has the ring of truth, claims it was a heavy bag filled with clothes that she wanted with her because – quite reasonably – she feared she’d never see it again if it went in the hold.

Either way, Campbell, sitting in the first class lounge on board flight BA269 bound for Los Angeles, wanted her bag and she wanted it now. When the police were called, she apparently spat at an officer and was arrested for assault. Other passengers had to wait two hours for take-off while the rest of Campbell’s luggage, which had somehow found its way onto the correct flight, were removed, along with her entourage.

Campbell was later released on bail. Terminal 5 promises to be operating a full flight schedule on Saturday for the first time since it opened.

The Almost Famous beauty split from The Black Crowes rocker in 2006 after six-years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences on divorce papers filed in August 2007. But the pair – who have a four-year-old son Ryder – remained firm friends throughout their turbulent relationship – with Hudson insisting Robinson will always be her “biggest love”. And the 28-year-old blonde has warned potential suitors – stating her close contact with ex-husband Robinson is here to stay.

She tells Britain’s Eve magazine, “Chris and I are so cool. I’m really lucky. We share houses in New York. No matter what happens, Chris was my biggest love – we had this amazing son and we both love each other. ”

Amisha Patel seems to have burried the hatchet with director Priyadarshan over her Bhool Bhulaiya fiasco and now working in his next, Billoo Barber, which will indeed be produced by Shah Rukh Khan.

The film is a comedy about two childhood friends – a barber and a rich filmstar. While SRK plays the superstar, Irrfan Khan is playing the his barber friend who comes to meet him after many years.

The film is apparently inspired from the Krishna-Sudama episode and reported to be a remake of Malayalam film Katha Parayumbol.

Though Amisha plays the barber’s wife in the movie, she will also have some scenes with SRK. This would be the second time Amisha would share the screen space with King Khan after her miniscule cameo with him in Om Shanti Om .
