Today as we were checking our top celebrity Twitters, we were shocked when we loaded @mileycyrus and the microblogging service informed us, ”Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!”

What! No more twittering from Miley Cyrus? What about her 2,119,677 followers? How will we know when she has strep throat? How will Lindsay Lohan invite Miley to her crappy fashion shows? Is Twitter really over for celebrities?

It appears the force behind this monumental decision is her Last Song costar and new boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. Her last tweet before signing off forever:

“FYI Liam doesn’t have a twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason.”

After getting over the fact we are no longer privy to the oversharing of a 16-year-old, we started to realize this is definitely for the best…

The last we heard about Miley Cyrus‘ dating life was less than a week ago. She was reportedly spotted sharing a kiss with Liam Hemsworth, her onscreen love interest in the upcoming flick The Last Song.

But I’m told whatever the two may have had going on, it was nothing serious.

In fact, not only did the movie wrap this weekend, but within a couple of hours of landing back in L.A. from the Savannah, Ga., set, Ms. Miley was on a date with a new guy.

Well, not so new…

I assume you’re referring at least partly to Miley Cyrus‘ stripper-pole action at the Teen Choice Awards?

Which hearkened vaguely to Britney Spears‘ stripper-pole action in…well, where do I start?

Full disclosure: I could not look directly at the Miley stripper-pole performance for fear of turning to stone, but descriptions from reliable sources indicate that stripper-pole interaction did occur.

Where are these comparisons coming from? Mostly Miley, it seems. But does all this necessarily mean Cyrus is doomed to a future of albino snakes and barefoot trips to the Porta Potti? Well…

Let’s take a look at the similarities.

Both have dads who live quite well thanks to their daughters’ massive bank accounts and tiny wardrobes. Both performers have strategically tapped into their sweet polka-dotted Southern roots as a way to sell themselves to mainstream audiences. Both have toyed with Lolita-like sexuality, though Britney took credit and responsibility for it, while Miley distanced herself after the fact.

Both have sprouted fully formed out of heads of Disney executives—Spears through the new Mickey Mouse Club and Cyrus via Hannah Montana.

But that may be where the similarities end. In fact, marketing and teen trending experts tell me that by comparing the 16-year-old Cyrus to the 27-year-old Spears, you may actually be levying an insult. At Miley.

“Unlike Britney, Miley Cyrus has a beloved character to fall back on—Hannah Montana,” says Megan Bannon, cultural anthropologist at market research agency Rapp Collins Worldwide. “When we analyzed over 6,500 online social mentions of Miley Cyrus posted in the last month, we see that she is very closely associated with Hannah Montana.”

In a good way.

According to a popularity measuring tool called the Davie Brown Index (DBI), “Miley is viewed as significantly more trustworthy than Britney within the general population,” Davie Brown’s Matt Delzell tells me. “I think that speaks highly of Miley, considering Britney is older and is a mother, both factors which tend to increase trust levels.”

Plus, Britney was essentially just getting started when she was in her teens. Miley?

“Cyrus, with her music and TV shows and movies, is something Britney Spears never was at that stage of her career: a multimedia superstar with a multigenerational appeal,” says branding pro Don Tanner, author of No Static at All.

So the real question is, even though she’s a decade older, can Britney ever dream of being the next Miley Cyrus?

Your name doesn’t have to be Nick or Justin to get close to Miley Cyrus. It just can’t be Mark McLeod.

The Disney diva has been granted a temporary restraining order against her alleged stalker and self-appointed fiancé after the 53-year-old was caught a second time sneaking around the Georgia set—and creeping everyone out in the process—of her new movie, The Last Song.

“McLeod shall not harass, threaten, molest, contact or attempt to contact” either Cyrus, her friends, family or coworkers, the order, filed yesterday, read.

McLeod was arrested on charges of attempted stalking this week, marking his second bust in as many months. On June 22, he was picked up on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing arrest after trespassing on the film set and claiming, among other disturbing theories, that he and Cyrus were engaged and that she was sending him secret messages through her TV show.

As for the restraining order, in addition to the usual modes of communication, McLeod has been specifically barred from accessing Miley’s Twitter page.

Though that’s one follower she probably won’t miss.

The “Hannah Montana” star is currently single after splitting from underwear model Justin Gaston and is keen to find a musical lover.

Writing on her Twitter account, the 16-year-old star said: “Dear GOD, I would like a boy that is like John Mayer/ James Morrison/ Elvis/ Rob Thomas all in one. YOU’RE THE BEST! Love always, Miley (sic).”
Yesterday (July 5, 2009), Miley opened up about her split from Justin, admitting she is thrilled the relationship is over.

She said: “I am lovinggg being single life is so carefree!!! (sic).”

But just hours later, the teen star had an abrupt change of heart, writing: “Why do I listen to songs that make me cry? Even better question, why do I listen to songs that make me miss you?”

“Goodnight moon, goodnight stars, goodnight my love wherever you are. Sweet dreams.”

It is unclear whether Miley was referring to Justin, or her ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas, who she dated for two years.

The pair have been photographed together several times since Miley ended her relationship with Justin.

Miley Cyrus was caught kissing a boy today!

Nope, not Nick Jonas or Justin Gaston. She puckered up to Liam Hemsworth. But it’s no real-life romance…

It was all business. The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star was spied locking lips with the Australian actor while filming a scene for their new movie The Last Song, a drama from The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks about a rebellious teen girl who is sent to live with her estranged father.

Yeah, Hemsworth plays Ms. Miley’s love interest. The two kissed while Hemsworth lifted a wet Cyrus out of the water and into his arms. Shooting began today in Savannah, Georgia.

“I got a hot boy,” Cyrus said of Hemsworth when I talked to her last month.

She added, “Not bad to look at for the summer.”

When asked at the time if they had any kissing scenes, she smiled, “I don’t know. Maybe.”

Guess we know the answer to that now.

Kids grow up so fast in Hollywood.

And so does their style. Teenage stars like Miley Cyrus, Hayden Panettiere and Demi Lovato often eschew age-appropriate attire in favor of couture that’s more fitting for mature, adult women—and end up looking like they’re playing dress-up on the red carpet in the process.

Miley Cyrus‘ people apparently don’t discriminate when it comes to how hard they’ll fire back against someone who attacks their boss girl, no matter how kooky the cause.

The tween queen’s legal team on Tuesday challenged a wannabe class-action suit filed by a woman who was offended by the infamous photograph of Cyrus and some of her friends slanting their eyes.

Cyrus’ attorneys state that Lucie J. Kim’s claim is predicated on a civil rights statute that has to do with equal access to public accommodations. Kim may complain that the Cyrus pic insulted Los Angeles County’s entire Asian-Pacific Islander population, but her lawsuit does not entitle her to “redress for racial insults,” the filing states.

Meaning, Kim doesn’t deserve reparations just because she was offended.

Miley Cyrus is the world’s favorite teenage idol.

The “Hannah Montana” actress has topped an online poll about young celebrities, with almost a third of voters – 32 per cent – naming her the biggest rising star.

However, only 10 per cent of participants believe the 16-year-old singer-and-actress is a good role model.

Squeaky-clean band the Jonas Brothers finished second in the favorite idols poll with 27 per cent of votes, while former winner Britney Spears was demoted to third position.

According to the survey, fans are frustrated by the “Womanizer” singer’s turbulent personal life.

The pop princess received less than a quarter of votes and only four per cent of voters believe the mother-of-two is a positive influence.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old singer Taylor Swift – who starred alongside Miley in “Hannah Montana: The Movie” – was named the celebrity with the most influence over adolescents.

The online questionnaire by PopEater.com – which was completed by 57,000 members – also saw the Backstreet Boys named as the greatest teen idols of the 90s, while Kirk Cameron won the award for the 80s and David Cassidy was the most popular star from the 70s.

Snoop Dogg wants to make ”gangsta pop” with Miley Cyrus.

The rap star – who has just finished producing and performing on a Johnny Cash Remixed album – is open to experimenting with new styles of music and would happily collaborate with the 16-year-old singer, as well as pop trio the Jonas Brothers.

When asked if he would work with the Disney favorites, Snoop replied: “Hell yeah. We can make some gangsta pop music.”

Snoop performed at the Our World Live event at Hollywood’s Avalon nightclub last night (April 8, 2009) and showed he has been inspired by working on the country legend’s remix record.

Miley Cyrus’ boyfriend finds it ”hard” to see her kiss another guy.

The 16-year-old singer-and-actress, who locks lips with co-star Lucas Till in “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” admits her real-life partner Justin Gaston struggled to watch the steamy scenes.

Miley said: “He’s seen the movie, and it’s only acting, so I guess you have got to keep that in your mind. And I’m sure it’s probably a little hard, but we’re actors. We have got to be good at our jobs.”

Lucas insists his relationship with Miley is purely platonic and he formed a friendship with Justin, 21, while they were shooting the teen movie.

He said: “Justin is a nice guy. I didn’t see any animosity there for any reason.”

Although underwear model Justin managed to contain his jealousy during Miley’s kissing scenes – her former on screen love interest Cody Linley wasn’t so understanding after learning Miley’s character has moved on.

Cody joked: “She’s got a boyfriend in the movie. Where is he? I’m going to lay the smackdown!”

“Everyone knows her real boyfriend is right here. I can probably whoop Lucas’ a*s. I’m just joking, but if you do want to fight, let’s go!”

Miley Cyrus wants to have children within 10 years.

The 16-year-old star – who is dating underwear model Justin Gatson, 21 – can see herself being a glamorous “soccer mom” like former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.

When quizzed on what she will be doing in a decade, Miley said: “I’ll be a soccer mom – like Posh Spice!”

“I’ll be there in my heels cheering on my kids, ‘Go, team, go!’ But I’ll have no idea what’s going on.”

However, the singer-and-actress has no plans to give up on her career when she does become a mother.

The “Hannah Montana” star added: “I’d love to be a director. I also want to keep going with my music. Maybe I can write music for movies.”

Miley – who recently claimed she is “best friends” with former boyfriend, 16-year-old Nick Jonas – also said she is “very happy” in her relationship with an older man.

She told KIIS-FM radio host Ryan Seacrest: “I’ve dealt with relationships with people my age. They can be harsh and judgmental.”

Miley has previously insisted the age difference between her and Justin “doesn’t worry” her.

She said: “We’re just really happy with the way everything has worked out.”

“He has been a really great friend, more than anything. It’s annoying that everyone started judging.”

“I’ve learned to go into our friendship with an open mind and not really worry about the age or anything.”

Miley Cyrus burst into tears at Nickelodeon’s 22nd Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.

The “Hannah Montana” star was overcome with emotion when she beat Beyonce Knowles, Alicia Keys and Rihanna to be named Favorite Female Singer at the ceremony, which was held at the University of California, Los Angeles’ Pauley Pavilion on Saturday (March 28, 2009).

Praising the fans who vote for the winners, she said: “I really thought I was going to lose, so thank you guys.”

“I’m so excited. I know this isn’t like the Oscars, but it’s still amazing because unlike any other awards show, it’s all because of you guys.”

“High School Musical 3: Senior Year” star Vanessa Hudgens picked up the Favorite Female Actress accolade, while the film was voted Favorite Movie.

Zac Efron took to the stage to accept the film’s award, saying: “Lately, a lot of people have been taking credit for bringing back the musical.”

“The truth is, we’ve known who’s been responsible for bringing back the musical all along. It was you guys!”

Just as important as the winners were those who got covered in green slime while on the stage, with Favorite Male Singer Jesse McCartney and presenters Sandra Bullock and Hugh Jackman getting gunged this year.

Other winners included Will Smith who was named Favorite Male Actor, the Jonas Brothers who won Favorite Group and Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” which was voted Favorite Song.

Jack Black thrilled the audience by picking up the Favorite Voice gong – for his part as Po in animated movie “Kung Fu Panda” – in a motorcycle sidecar.

Leonardo DiCaprio was handed the first ever Big Green Help Award for his environmental work by Cameron Diaz.

He said: “Do you like this planet that we live on? Is this an awesome place to live or what? Well, it’s the only place we’ve got.”

“We need all of you, the next generation, to take action. In fact, I bet someone watching this very show tonight will be a part of the solution to global warming.”

The awards are decided by viewers of children’s TV network Nickelodeon, with a record 90 million votes being cast.

Radiohead refused to speak to Miley Cyrus.

The “Hannah Montana” star is “obsessed” with the alternative rock band, but when she saw them at the Grammy Awards last month they wouldn’t acknowledge her.

Miley said: “My manager asked and said, ‘Miley, she’s really obsessed and she’d really like to meet them,’ and they were like, ‘Yeah, we don’t really do that.’ I left because I was so upset. I wasn’t going to watch!”

“I’d already texted all my friends, we were all freaking out. This is someone who I would have cried to have met. Stinking Radiohead!”

This is not the first rejection 16-year-old Miley has suffered. She recently revealed her school days were “friendless, lonely and miserable.”

Writing in her new book “Miley Cyrus: Miles To Go,” she recollects: “The girls took it beyond normal bullying. These were big, tough girls. I was scrawny and short. They were fully capable of doing me bodily harm.”

Nick Jonas will only date girls who like his mother.

The 16-year-old Jonas Brothers singer – who has previously romanced Miley Cyrus – is so close to his mom Denice he would never feel comfortable in a relationship with someone who didn’t bond with her.

Asked to describe his dream girl, Nick replied: “Someone who’s good to my mom, that’s very important. And someone who has a good sense of humor.”

Despite chatting happily about their dream women, neither Nick or his brothers Joe and Kevin were willing to admit which famous face they have a crush on.

Asked if they would rather cast Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston in one of their music videos, Joe laughed: “That’s a hard one. I don’t know. We’ll take both.”

The Jonas Brothers have previously revealed they would never date a girl who doesn’t get on with her own mother.

Nick, who is recently believed to have split from Selena Gomez, wouldn’t consider getting involved with a girl unless she has a healthy relationship with her parents.

He said: “They have to be good to their moms.”

Miley Cyrus hates her Porsche car – because it used to be her mother’s.

The “Hannah Montana” star was given the luxury sports car after turning 16 last month, but wanted a brand new vehicle.

She told US TV show “Extra”: “I do have a car. I took my mom’s old car. I didn’t get the one I wanted, but I got the old car which wasn’t so bad because it was a Porsche. I suppose it was a pretty good hand me down.”

Miley – who is taking her “Bolt” co-star John Travolta to the Golden Globes, where she is nominated for two prizes, as her “date” – recently revealed she was attacked by a fruit-wielding assailant while learning to drive.

She said: “I already had a big Student Driver sign over my head, and someone threw a banana at me!”

Miley has also admitted she is nervous around her driving instructor.

She added: “My test person scares me. He says, ‘Alright Miley, if you make a left turn, what’s going to happen?’ And I am like, ‘I don’t really know.’”

“And he goes, ‘Thump! That’s what going to happen to your brand-new car.’ He just starts hitting things, and it really scared me.”

Miley Cyrus is helping her boyfriend break into acting.

The “Hannah Montana” star, 16, is using her showbiz connections to find work for 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston.

Justin said: “They’ve been helping me out and introducing me to a lot of people. It’s hard to find a good family like this.”

Justin has grown very close to Miley’s father – “Achy Breaky Heart” singer Billy Ray Cyrus – and is even planning to spend Christmas with the family.

He added: “I’ll probably be around somewhere with Billy Ray – hanging with the family.”

However, insiders claim Justin – who has landed a modeling deal with Roberto Cavalli since he started dating Miley – is only using the young star to boost his celebrity status.

A source told America’s OK! magazine: “You start to think he’s in this for fame. She needed someone, and her father Billy Ray thought this was perfect for her image.”

Miley has recently said she loves the “challenges” her own fame has brought. She said: “Being famous is what I’ve grown up with – being around my father who’s gone through the same thing.”

“But when you have it happen to yourself, it’s finally like, ‘Oh, my gosh. Now I really understand what this is business is all about.’”
