A lawsuit launched against Teri Hatcher by a cosmetics firm will be sent to arbitration after a Los Angeles judge ruled in her favour.

Beauty company Hydroderm lodged a £2 million lawsuit against the Desperate Housewives actress, suing her for breach of contract, after they claimed she had promoted other beauty products while signed up to them.

The star, who was paid £2.4 million to promote Hydroderm products, insists her promotion of CityLips’ lip plumper did not affect the deal, and that management changes constantly left her unsure of the terms of her conract.

And Hatcher’s lawyers have successfully persuaded a judge to move the case to arbitration, meaning the matter will now be settled out of court.

Lindsay Lohan has another court date. A judge on Tuesday refused to dismiss portions of a lawsuit against the 21-year-old actress over an October 2005 accident in which her Mercedes-Benz collided with a van.

Superior Court Judge Michael L. Stern rejected a motion that argued the lawsuit lacked legal sufficiency, and set April 7 for the trial.
The California Highway Patrol concluded that Raymundo Ortega, a busboy, caused the accident by making an illegal U-turn, but he sued Lohan and is seeking at least $200,000 in damages.

Ortega was knocked out in the crash, said his attorney, Robert G. Klein. Lohan and a female passenger sustained minor injuries.
Ortega’s suit contends that Lohan was fleeing paparazzi and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
“This case is about responsibility and she’s not taking responsibility,” Klein said outside court.

Lohan’s attorney, David J. Ozeran, said outside court that there was no evidence that Lohan was intoxicated.

Last month, Lohan agreed to spend a day in jail and complete a drug treatment program after pleading guilty or no contest to misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges stemming from arrests earlier this year in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.

Paris Hilton can scratch her next court date from her calendar. A settlement in a $10 million defamation lawsuit was reached Wednesday between the hotel heiress-reality TV star and diamond heiress-actress Zeta Graff.

The trial was set to start Monday.

In the suit, Graff claimed that Hilton spread “vicious lies” about her to the media in 2005.

Both sides reached an “amicable resolution,” but the details were kept confidential, according to a statement released by Graff’s attorney, Bruce Broillet.

“Both parties are glad that the matter could be resolved without the time and expense of a trial,” the statement read.
Attorneys for both Graff and Hilton declined further comment. Hilton spokesman Elliot Mintz did not return telephone calls Wednesday.
In the suit, Graff claimed that Hilton spread the lies about her to the New York Post.

The paper reported that Graff — who once dated Hilton’s then-fiance, Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis — went “berserk” at a nightclub, tried to strangle Hilton and attempted to steal her diamond necklace.

Graff denied the report and claimed that Hilton said, “I’m going to destroy you” after trying to oust her from the club, according to the suit.

Hilton denied that she was behind the report.
But former Hilton publicist Rob Shuter said in a deposition that Hilton asked him to help plant the story and that he gave the paper comments, dictated by Hilton, that he attributed to himself, Hilton and anonymous sources.
