They managed to make their way through a crowd of fans, though Johnny’s no stranger to being the center of attention after he spent Monday night on the red carpet with costar Isla Fisher at the LA premiere of their movie Rango. He was also out over the weekend to attend the film’s junket, where he gamely shared the spotlight with Justin Bieber. Johnny Depp stepped out onto the balcony of the LA Four Seasons looking hot on Saturday — what a nice Valentine’s Day treat! He took a quick break from chatting up his animated movie, Rango, at the weekend’s press junket. We caught up with Johnny and costars Abigail Breslin and Isla Fisher at the event, where he shared about his sex-symbol status and his love for making kids movies. Attention was temporarily diverted from Johnny to surprise guest Justin Bieber, who was also staying at the hotel, when the pop star showed up in the middle of the interview! Johnny’s been on the West Coast for the last month enjoying award season with a cameo at the Golden Globes and People’s Choice Awards. He skipped out on last night’s Grammys, but John Mayer was there channeling Johnny’s signature look.

The French singer-and-actress – who has children Lily-Rose, 11, and eight-year old Jack with the “Alice in Wonderland” star – believes it is important to have quality time for you and your partner in order to maintain a successful relationship.

When asked for her tips to make a relationship work, she told Stylist magazine: “Love, respect and patience. I think it’s important to spend quality time together. We like watching old movies with Bogart and Bacall and Jean Gabin and Alain Delon.”

The 37-year-old beauty has been in a relationship with Johnny for 12 years but the couple still have no plans to marry, a situation Vanessa insists she is happy with.

She added: “Will we marry? I really have no idea.”

“I’m not really for it or against it. There is something romantic about it and there’s something scary about it. If you’re happy without it, why bother?”

Johnny recently revealed he and Vanessa are going to work together for the first time on a movie.

He confirmed: “It’s in preparation. It’s called ‘My American Lover.’ Vanessa plays the French feminist Simone de Beauvoir and I play her lover Nelson Algren who is real macho.”

Simone de Beauvoir was a 20th century French writer and philosopher famous for her treatise “The Second Sex,” an analysis of women’s oppression and contemporary feminism, and her open relationship with existentialist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre. She traveled through Latin America with writer Algren in 1949.

Johnny – who has been in a relationship with French singer-and-actress Vanessa for around 12 years and has two children with her, Lily Rose, ten, and Jack, seven – is currently shooting “The Tourist” with Angelina Jolie and admits he is “impressed” by her talents.

He said: “She’s a nice woman. What she does she takes very seriously. I was really impressed by her and I’m thrilled to be working with her.”

Just as Johnny is excited about working with Vanessa and Angelina he is also very excited about the next “Pirates of the Caribbean” film.

The 46-year-old actor – who reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming fourth movie, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” – revealed to Blick.ch: “I love Captain Jack.”

“In the earlier films there were so many subplots that the audience, and even I, was sometimes confused. The next part is fun, a lot of fun.”

The “Alice in Wonderland” actor – who has children Lily Rose, ten, and Jack, seven, with partner Vanessa Paradis – admits he prefers his existence in France to a glitzy, Hollywood lifestyle.

He said: “We have a great place in the South of France. It’s a little hamlet – only about 45 acres – and I don’t do anything.”

“I’ve not left the property for three months at a time. I literally just wake up, go out, check the garden and see the vegetables growing. It’s a pristine existence in terms of simplicity.”

“There’s no talk of movies or work and, infinitely more important, the telephone never rings. It really is a beautiful, simple life.”

The 46-year-old star also claims a decision to buy an island in the Caribbean was a spur of the moment decision.

He said in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Like everything else in my life it wasn’t planned, it just kind of happened. I went on vacation to escape with my kiddies and my girl and someone said that there was an island down the road for sale.”

“I said, ‘Let’s go see it.’ I looked at it, I walked on it and I was done. It had to be. It came at the perfect moment for me.”

“The island provides me with simplicity and somewhere I can go where no one is looking at me or pointing a camera or a finger at me. I can just be. When we’re there we do absolutely nothing.”

While he insists he prefers the quiet life, Johnny jokingly claims he took a role in upcoming movie “The Tourist” with Angelina Jolie – who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt – because he wants more attention.

He said: “I feel I’m not getting photographed by the paparazzi enough, so I figure I’ll go and hang out in Venice with Brad and Angelina.”

For many actors, the Mad Hatter, Edward Scissorhands and Capt. Jack Sparrow would be considered a trio of roles of a lifetime. But Johnny Depp has never been one to rest on his laurels.
