Gilles is off the operating-room table and on to his recovery. “I am out now,” he just said in an email. “Shoot, it hurts. LOL. It’s the post-Cheryl Burke treatment. LOL.”

Marini checked into a hospital this morning to undergo surgery to treat a shoulder injury related to work on Dancing With the Stars.

“On my way to the hospital,” the Sex and the City stud tweeted at about 9 a.m. PST. “I am relax and hope that all will be fine. It’s my number 15 when it comes to surgery. Love G.”

Shortly after DWTS began, Gilles suffered a separated shoulder. He declined to go under the knife right away, because he did not want to drop out of the competition.

“Because I am not dancing anymore, it feels fine,” he told me after the final performance show in mid-May. “But I need to schedule [the surgery], because the recovery time is about three weeks, and I don’t want to spend too much time doing nothing.”

Nothing says funny like ambulance-chasing lawyers.

At least that’s hope for the brain trust behind Cameron Diaz’s latest outing, in which she’ll star as a ruthless legal eagle who takes the case when one of her firm’s biggest clients gets sued for sexual discrimination.

According to Variety, Diaz is in final negotiations to star in Bobbie Sue. No director has yet been named.

Was Madonna just horsing around?

Despite her rep’s claim that a pesky paparazzo was to blame for Madonna’s weekend fall from a horse in the Hamptons, the officers who responded to the scene said the Material One made no mention of any shutterbug involvement.

“She was a victim of a fall from a horse. We have no mention of the paparazzi,” Officer Chris Brenner, a spokesman for the Southampton Village Police Department, tells E! News. “We got a call that the subject fell off the horse and treated it as an aided case.

The call came in at 4:24 p.m. Saturday and, per standard operating procedure, Southampton’s finest showed up to assist emergency medical personnel.

Josh Hartnett has blamed his recent hospitalization on drinking dirty water.

The “30 Days of Night” actor sparked widespread concern when he was rushed to the emergency room with crippling stomach pains last month, but insists reports of his illness were overblown.

Josh said: “I’m fine. I just had a little stomach bug. There’s nothing to worry about.”

“It’s been reoccurring because I have been spending a lot of time in Third World countries, and I occasionally drank the water when I shouldn’t have – and sometimes it catches up with you.”

The 30-year-old actor added he was given fluids in hospital and immediately started feeling better.

He explained to America’s People magazine: “I went to the hospital and it was literally just a 24-hour thing. I was so dehydrated that I needed to be on a couple of IVs, but I’m good.”

Josh was staying at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont hotel when he fell ill on March 30. An ambulance was called, and the actor was taken to the city’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Despite initial claims he was seriously ill, Josh was seen partying at the hotel with a group of friends several days later.
