Scarlett Johansson has been put on a diet by Gwyneth Paltrow.

The curvy “Lost In Translation” star has lost over 14lbs since she began working out with her “Iron Man 2″ co-star in preparation for the movie.

A source said: “The pair have been doing daily workouts with Gwyneth’s personal trainer Tracy Anderson. Scarlett is also staying away from carbohydrates.”

The 24-year-old actress has reportedly decided to slim down amid fears she could lose out on movie roles to younger, more attractive actresses.

A friend told Britain’s Star magazine: “Scarlett has always been happy with her curves, but recently she has been feeling pressure to lose a few pounds.”

“She knows that she is up against tough competition from younger, prettier and increasingly skinner actresses.”

Scarlett previously insisted she loved her fuller figure and felt no pressure to diet.

She said: “I don’t need to be skinny to be sexy.”

Gwyneth Paltrow has been accused of stealing the idea for her weekly newsletter GOOP.

Writer and nutritionist Mary Kent Hearon insists the “Iron Man” actresses’ lifestyle site – which is dedicated to health and “nourishing the inner aspect” – is a copy of her website WeeklyBeet, which was launched in 2004.

Mary claims she went to college with a close friend of Gwyneth’s, resulting in her organizing a meeting with the 34-year-old star in a London restaurant to pitch her idea for the site.

Mary said in a statement: “I am shocked that someone whom I looked up to and so admired for her openness about alternative medicine, a) treated me very rudely, and b) proceeded to produce a concept which, in my opinion, is similar to The Beet, especially after being asked to bless mine. That to me is not light!”

Gwyneth’s representatives have strongly denied the accusations.

Last month, Gwyneth blasted critics of the site claiming those who were rude about it were failing to understand its message.

She said: “I think the people who are criticizing it or criticizing the idea of it, don’t really get it, because if they did, they would like it.”

Gwyneth and Madonna have been friends for 10 years, with the singer turning to Gwyneth for support after split from Guy last year.

Gwyneth told People magazine: “When I fell ill with pneumonia last year the fear of dying sort of swept over me to the degree that I lost my sight for a second and I nearly collapsed.”

Despite the incident, the 36-year-old actress is determined not to become obsessed with her own mortality and has not thought about the legacy she will leave her children.

She explained: “I just sort of do the best that I can on a daily basis and I learn.”

Gwyneth has previously spoken of her devastation at her father’s death, adding she worried she is developing pneumonia whenever she falls ill.

She said: “To this day I’m faced with his death all the time. I’ve had pneumonia twice in the past year, and that’s ultimately what he died of.”

Gwyneth Paltrow agreed to star in a TV show to prove she isn’t uptight.The Hollywood actress wanted to show the public her true character and so decided to team up with US chef Mario Batali on “Spain … On the Road Again.”

Madonna announced she was splitting from Guy yesterday (Oct 15, 2008) ending months of speculation the marriage was in trouble.

Gwyneth Paltrow has sparked outrage after posing for an advert wearing fur.The “Iron Man” actress – who has two children, Apple, four, and two-year-old Moses with vegetarian singer husband Chris Martin – has angered animal rights groups by posing in animal skin as the face of the autumn collection of fur-lined boots and bags from Italian designers Tod’s.

A spokesperson for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has revealed the group has sent the actress letters and videos “showing how people suffer for fur” but are yet to receive a response from Gwyneth.

The spokesperson added: “Gwyneth Paltrow won’t be the apple of her daughter’s eye if she continues to flaunt fur.”

“It’s a terrible example to set for a young child, promoting an industry that electrocutes animals, snaps their necks and skins them alive.”

Vegetarian charity Viva! have also attacked the actress – who is renowned for her green lifestyle and previously stuck to a vegan macrobiotic diet – branding her “stupid.”

A spokesperson said: “There is nothing feminine about inserting an electrode into the anus of a terrified and struggling fox and then electrocuting it.”

“Ms. Paltrow is an actress – and seemingly a particularly stupid one at that.”

In addition to angering the groups, some of Gwyneth’s closest friends are reportedly “furious” with her, including vegan musician Moby and fashion designer Stella McCartney, who refuses to use fur in her collections.

She said: “It was a very difficult time. I just did not know what was wrong with me. I felt very detached, I felt like I was a shell of myself. I just felt like I was going through the motions of the things in my life.”

“It was a very weird three to six months. I didn’t know what was wrong with me until I started to come out of it, and my mom said to me, ‘You don’t seem right. What’s going on?’ And I was defensive because I didn’t know what was wrong with me.”

She added to US TV “Entertainment Tonight”: “By the time I realized I needed medication I was already coming out of it. I really feel for any woman who’s had it or going through it, because it’s not easy.”

Recently, the ‘Shakespeare in Love’ actress turned up at Sonya Dakkar spa in Beverly Hills.

A witness said that Paltrow bought 9 Ultra Lux products that also included a cream with the venom in it.

“It’s not Botox. Just a cream that has the venom in it . . . [the cream] is part of the facials,” the New York Post quoted the source, as saying.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s new neighbors could be Kate Moss and Pete Doherty.

Kate and Pete have fallen in love with a $10 million mansion just a few doors away from Gwyneth and Chris’ family home in London’s fashionable Belsize Park.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “They are pretty keen on this place on Chris and Gwyneth’s road. They like it because there are options to make it a bit more private.”
