Drew Barrymore stepped out in LA last night without her boyfriend Will Kopelman in order to toast pal Kimberly Snyder’s new book The Beauty Detox Solution. Kimberly gathered even more of her famous friends for the event, including Hilary Duff, Fergie along with hosts Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. Channing was able to spend time socializing during a break from working on his next project — he blogged a photo from the production office of 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill earlier this week. Jenna is likewise busy shooting the pilot for her new TV seriesThe Playboy Club, and it apparently already has the approval of Hugh Hefner. Drew had the evening free from prepping for her own next big thing, which is directing the big-screen adaptation of How to Be Single. She’s clearly off the market, though, as her relationship with Will continues to grow.

The actress – who stars opposite on/off boyfriend Justin Long in new movie “Going the Distance” – admits a good rom-com always puts a smile on her face when life is getting the better of her.

She said: “I need them (rom-coms) at the end of a crap day – a nice happy ending and a fairytale. On the other hand I like movies that are very grounded in reality but still maintain their comedy.”

Although Drew enjoys the often light-hearted genre, she doesn’t relate to movies which depict women as wedding obsessed and needy.

She added to the London Evening Standard newspaper: “I swear to God, with some of these romantic comedies, these women are being shot in the butt with steroids, and I feel like they’ll eat the husband alive on their wedding day. It just terrifies me – I don’t relate to that at all. I’m not at that place in my life where I want to play a character who says, ‘I just have to get married.’”

The “Going the Distance” actress has no interest in the micro-blogging site and admits she is an “old fashioned girl” when it comes to technology.

She said: “I know I’m an anomaly, I know everyone else is in love with it, but it’s not for me. I like people who use it for comedy to make people laugh. If people are making other people laugh and making jokes then that’s awesome.”

When pressed to try out the site by Absolute Radio DJ Geoff Lloyd, she refused, saying: “I’m an old fashioned girl.”

Drew’s “Going the Distance” co-star and on/off boyfriend Justin Long believes the 35-year-old actress will stick to her self-imposed twitter ban.

He said: “She won’t join, I promise you she won’t.”

In a joint interview, he added to Drew: “Like as disparate as it is from your nature, I still feel like you would tweet some really funny things, you’d have some good entertainment.”

Drew – who refuses to confirm if she is in a relationship with Justin – previously claimed she thinks technology is killing romance.

She said: “I just don’t like this compulsive, instantaneous, over- information, lack-of-privacy, weirdo aspect of the world. If you meet someone, they already know everything.”

“What about showing up on the date and saying, ‘What do you do for a living? Who are your friends?’ Yes, you can avoid maybe a serial killer, but who f***ing knows? I am a romantic and it scares me.”

The “Going the Distance” actress – who refuses to confirm if she is still in a relationship with actor Justin Long – found the erotic audio experience “weird” and, although she enjoyed it at the time, she wouldn’t want to make raunchy calls a key aspect of her relationships.

She said: “I’ve had successful phone sex – it can work.”

“I think it’s f***ing weird – it’s super weird. I tried it though, with a little success at one point in my life, but it was just a thing you try, like wearing orange for a while. I don’t think it’s something I could live my life with.”

The blonde beauty has also dismissed suggestions advances in technological communication have now made it easier to have a long-distance relationship.

She added to the UK edition of Marie Claire magazine: “I think there’s a huge false sense of security in the technology of ‘we’re always connected so we can be apart’ because, unless you have a 3,000 mile-long penis, that’s not exactly the case.”

Drew also hates the way social networking websites have removed an air of mystery from first dates.

She said: “I just don’t like this compulsive, instantaneous, over-information, lack-of-privacy, weirdo aspect of the world. If you meet someone, they already know everything. I am a romantic and it scares me.”

The “Whip It” director said she wouldn’t go under the knife as she is more interested in watching her body change as she grows older.

Drew, 35, said: “F**k surgery! I’m so curious as to what’s going to happen naturally that I can’t imagine wanting to alter things just yet.”

“And to all those women putting botulism in their faces – we don’t know what the long-term effects are, so stop! I’d rather look like a basset hound than do that to my face!”

The US actress – who shot to fame at the age of seven when she starred in “E.T” – also told how “Whip It,” her directorial debut – about a teenager who loves Roller Derbys but is pushed into beauty pageants by her parent – closely reflects her relationship with her own mother.

Drew added: “I tried to create the kind of relationship that I would have wanted with my own mother. In the film, the mother is really into pageants, while the daughter hates them, and I understood that dynamic.”

“My own mom cared about Hollywood and I didn’t. A lot of the pain in the relationship between the mother and daughter came from my own experiences, and sections of their dialog are verbatim conversations that took place between me and my mom.”

“Whip It” is released in Europe from April 7.

The “Charlie’s Angels” actress – who is dating actor Justin Long – says her style changes every day but everything she wears has a feminine aspect to it.

The 35-year-old actress revealed: “My style is totally eclectic. It depends on what mood I wake up in. Am I feeling retro 60s? Am I hippy chick from the 70?”

“But I love floral patterns too – I’m actually a bit of a girlie girl.”

Drew also spoke about her friendship with actress Cameron Diaz, saying she can confide in her about everything and knows she will always be given honest advice.

Drew added to new! magazine: “Cameron is one of my best friends. I think friendship is about being there for each other in the good and in the difficult times.”

“It’s just being honest, giving sound advice and helping each other laugh.”

The 34-year-old actress – who made her directorial debut with “Whip It!” – recently said she is comfortable with aging but if the effects show too much, she plans to quit acting in favor of staying behind the camera.

She said: “It’s the best time of my life – it’s not traumatic at all. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier. It’s like the older I get, the better I get. Gravity and wrinkles are fine with me. They’re a small price to pay for the new wisdom inside my head and my heart.”

“If my breasts fall down to the floor and everything starts to sag and becomes hideous and gross, I won’t worry. I’ll just stop appearing in front of the camera. That’s fine with me because I love producing and directing.”

Drew Barrymore has reportedly rekindled her romance with Justin Long.

The “He’s Just Not That Into You” actress and her co-star Justin – who split last July after almost a year together – were spotted kissing and cuddling during a romantic evening at Hollywood’s Bar Marmont, situated inside the Chateau Marmont Hotel.

A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine: “Drew walked in with Justin, and all heads turned. They were definitely acting like more than friendly exes!”

The 33-year-old actress – who has been friends with Hugh since they starred in 2007′s “Music and Lyrics” – couldn’t contain her feelings when she saw the British actor at the Waverly Inn restaurant on Monday night (Feb 9, 2009).

A source told the New York Post newspaper: “She squealed and jumped in his arms when Hugh walked into the Waverly Inn. The two then made out.”

However, the pair’s passion appeared to quickly fizzle out and later that evening Drew moved on to the Beatrice Inn nightspot to party with Clive Owen.
