Daniel Radcliffe has been voted most valuable young star.

The “Harry Potter” actor topped a poll based on the Forbes Star Currency list, which measures individuals’ on both their body or work and bank ability.

Daniel, 19, beat a host of well-known names to the coveted top spot with “Hannah Montana” actress-and-singer Miley Cyrus, 16, coming second and “Secret Life Of Bees” star Dakota Fanning, 15, claiming third spot.

Daniel came out highest due to the success of the wizard movie franchise and his critically-acclaimed stage role in “Equus,” which has enjoyed runs in London’s West End and New York’s Broadway theater districts.

The survey described the British star as someone who “was plucked from relative obscurity to take on the Harry Potter role and has made the most of the opportunity. As Potter wraps up, he’s clearly just beginning.”

Around 150 entertainment industry members were asked to rank Hollywood stars under the age of 19 years on box office success, audience appeal and ability to attract funding to get their Star Currency rating.

“Little Miss Sunshine” actress Abigail Breslin, 12, came in fourth place, narrowly beating “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere, who came fifth.

Making up the rest of the top ten were Daniel’s “Harry Potter” co-star Emma Watson, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” actor Freddie Highmore, Keke Palmer, Julia Roberts’ actress niece Emma Roberts and Anton Yelchin, who is can soon be seen in “Star Trek” and “Terminator Salvation.”

JK Rowling is so impressed by Daniel Radcliffe’s nude scenes in ‘Equus’ that she is tempted to see him strip off for the next instalment of the boy wizard franchise.

Radcliffe said that after seeing the West End show, Rowling came backstage to tell him that he was going to be naked all the time in the next Potter film.

“When Jo came to see me in Equus she popped backstage afterwards and told me: ‘In the next film, Harry’s going to be naked all of the time!’” Contactmusic quoted Radcliffe, as saying. Radcliffe, who has made his mark at West End, is also planning to do the same on Broadway.

The actor earlier confirmed that he would be making his debut on the American stage when the play Equus goes to the Big Apple next year.

Publisher delays Potter reference work After being sued by JK Rowling, a publisher has agreed to delay its plans to release an encyclopedic reference work on the fictitious world of the Harry Potter novels.

RDR Books Publisher Roger Rapoport said he volunteered to halt typesetting on the planned “Harry Potter Lexicon” until a judge rules on whether the work constitutes a violation of Rowling’s intellectual property rights, or the copyright on her novels held by Warner Bros.

The book, drawn on material from the fan-created Harry Potter Lexicon Web site, had been scheduled for release on Nov. 28.
A federal judge in New York gave force to the agreement by issuing an order Thursday barring completion, distribution, marketing or advance sales of the book until further notice.

Rapoport, whose small company is based in Muskegon, Mich., said he had also turned over a copy of the Lexicon to Warner Bros. lawyers, in the hopes that they would read it and decide that it didn’t amount to copyright infringement.
“I think they should drop it. I’m hopeful that they will,” he said.

The lawsuit, filed Oct. 31, sought an injunction blocking publication of the book because it was likely to borrow too heavily from Rowling’s work and interfere with her plans to eventually publish her own version of an encyclopedia on the wizarding world. The suit was somewhat of a surprise because Rowling had been a supporter of the Lexicon Web site, which would contain much of the same material. But she and Warner Bros. said they saw a difference between fans publishing such information for free on the Web, and putting it into a book for commercial sale.

In a statement released on her Web site, Rowling said she took “no pleasure” in the prevention of the Lexicon’s publication.
“On the contrary, I feel massively disappointed that this matter had to come to court at all,” the statement said. “Given my past good relations with the Lexicon fan site, I can only feel sad and disillusioned that this is where we have ended up.”
The seventh and final installment in Rowling’s hugely successful series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” was published in July. The seven books have sold nearly 400 million copies and have been translated into 64 languages.

Bloom will be treading the boards in the British capital’s West End theatre district as one of the leads in David Storey’s play “In Celebration,” which opens Thursday.

But despite rumours on Internet fan sites that he would bare all, as Radcliffe did in a recent London production of Peter Shaffer’s “Equus,” Bloom, 30, said that his modesty would remain intact.

“I heard what they’re saying. But you’ve read the play. Where would I possibly get my clothes off in it? It’s bizarre,” the “Lord of the Rings” actor told the Guardian.

“In Celebration” is a revival of a 1969 play about three sons who have escaped the way of life embodied by their father, a miner in the north of England.

It was made into a 1975 film directed by Lindsay Anderson and starring Alan Bates.

Emma Watson has agreed to star in the final two ”Harry Potter” movies.

The 16-year-old actress, who reportedly told movie bosses she no longer wanted to play Hermione over fears of being typecast, has been persuaded to commit to the remaining installments of the boy wizard series.

Emma said: “I could never let Hermione Granger go. I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I’m excited and honored to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven films.”

Emma has signed a deal which will earn her a reported $4 million per movie.

Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint – who play Harry Potter and Ron Weasley respectively – have already agreed to reprise their roles for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Earlier this month, Rupert revealed Emma was keen to take on new challenges.

He said: “Emma doesn’t want to do it any more. She’s tired of being known as ‘that girl from Harry Potter.’”

“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” – the franchise’s fifth film – will be released this summer.

Author J.K. Rowling’s final book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” will be published in July.

British actor Daniel Radcliffe has signed up for the final two films in the seven-part Harry Potter series, his spokeswoman said on Friday.

The 17-year-old, who has just won rave reviews for his performance in Peter Shaffer’s controversial play “Equus,” will start filming the sixth movie based on the bestselling books by J.K. Rowling in September, she added.

Radcliffe shot to fame in 2001 when he appeared as the boy wizard in the first Harry Potter film.

The hit franchise, which continues with the fifth installment called “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” later this year, has amassed around $3.5 billion globally at the box office and turned the teenager into a multi-millionaire.

Rowling recently announced that the seventh and final book in the series, called “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” will be published on July 21, but it is not clear when the film version will be made.

The first six books have sold in excess of 325 million copies worldwide.

Movie commentators had wondered if Radcliffe could sustain the role of Potter throughout the film franchise, and whether the raunchy publicity shots of Radcliffe for “Equus” would alienate him from his core fan base.

Harry Potter is all grown up.

Even before Tuesday’s opening night at the Gielgud Theatre, the Internet was awash with anticipation and outrage. In the play, Radcliffe strips naked. He smokes.

Radcliffe, 17, has said he took the role of Alan Strang, a disturbed young man whose obsession drives him to blind horses with a metal spike, partly from a desire “to shake up people’s perception of me.”

On those grounds, the play is already a success. Hundreds of Potter fans have swarmed the theater during previews. Canny marketing — including carefully cropped publicity photos of Radcliffe’s naked torso — has helped the production sell $3.1 million worth of tickets in advance.

But not everyone is happy.

The anti-smoking group ASH said Radcliffe’s onstage cigarette was “regrettable.” The group said it feared Radcliffe’s status as a role model might encourage young people to start smoking. Warner Bros., the studio behind the Harry Potter movies, issued a statement denying reports that it was unhappy with Radcliffe’s edgy new image. The studio said it considered Radcliffe a “great collaborator” and supported the “artistic choices he makes as an actor.”

Radcliffe said he saw the stage nudity that comes with the role as “a rite of passage.”

“That iconic scene is the physical and emotional climax of the play,” he was quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph newspaper. “So if I do that with pants on, it would be crap.”

He said he took the part in a bid to move beyond Harry and assert his acting credentials. “With this, they can say I’m good or terrible, but the one thing they can’t say is I haven’t challenged myself.”

“Equus” opened in 1973 at London’s National Theatre, before a successful run on Broadway starring Anthony Hopkins. Richard Burton and Peter Firth starred in a 1977 film version.

The new production co-stars Richard Griffiths — Harry’s dastardly Uncle Vernon in the Potter movies and a Tony Award winner last year for “The History Boys” — as a psychiatrist who interviews the troubled youth.

Radcliffe returns as the teenage wizard in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” slated for release July 13. The sixth Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” is due to start filming this summer, after the run of “Equus” ends in June.

Ticket prices range from about $100 to $38.
