We’re hoping that, wherever he is now, DMX is turning over a new leaf.

The rapper-actor was released from a Phoenix jail Thursday after serving a 90-day sentence for a variety of felonious behavior involving drugs, dogs and identity theft.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was sentenced Jan. 30 after cutting a deal with prosecutors on more than a dozen felony counts racked up over the prior 12 months. He ultimately pleaded guilty to one count each of animal cruelty, theft, marijuana possession and possession of a narcotic.

But having served his time, why did DMX have to pay a $10,000 bond to secure his release today?

Perhaps Victoria Principal thinks she’s gone from Dallas to Dynasty, because she may have pulled quite the Alexis Carrington.

The erstwhile Pamela Ewing is the target of an assault lawsuit brought by a former maid who claims Principal pulled a gun on her after she took too long walking the actress’ dog one evening.

According to the complaint filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, before she allegedly brandished a firearm, Principal fired housekeeper Maribel Banegas and told her to leave after accusing her of staying away from the house for too long with the pooch.

Principal then went upstairs and, instead of returning with her checkbook as Banegas expected, she had a gun in her hand, the former maid says

An overzealous fan stormed the stage at Britney Spears‘ concert last night at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut and attempted to dance with the 27-year-old pop star.

Britney was performing her hit “Womanizer” as an encore when 20-year-old Kyle King from Orlando, Fla., snuck past security barriers and got thisclose to her.

Backup dancers and security were able to pull him away before he made contact, but Brit-Brit was visibly shaken.

A detective with the Connecticut State Police confirms to E! News that King was arrested for breach of peace and release on $250 cash bond. He is expected at Norwich Superior Court on June 18.

Hayden Panettiere’s Los Angeles home was burglarized last week — and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry was stolen.

Law enforcement sources say Hayden returned from vacation on April 15th and discovered around $15,000 worth of jewelry was missing.

We’re told there were no forced signs of entry — and sources say there were several people who were in and out of the house while she was gone.

As Britney Spears continues her Circus tour throughout California this week, Spears’ alleged trespasser Miranda Tozier-Robbins spoke exclusively to E! News about why she snuck onto the pop star’s property and the reason she believes things have been blown out of proportion.

Tozier-Robbins, 26, is a former American Idol hopeful who says she has been in Los Angeles for about a month and a half and is actively pursing an entertainment industry career in numerous fields, one being paparazzi-like documentary filmmaking.

According to Tozier-Robbins, Britney’s house was simply chosen because of its convenient location and perfect timing—she knew Spears would be in L.A. for her tour this week and apparently her address is available online.

“The documentary is more or less just, [me] on the way to Britney’s house, going on the bicycle ride, the camping out in the woods,” says Tozier-Robbins.

While she confesses to being a fan of Spears, Tozier-Robbins claims that she is in no way a stalker. “There’s no obsession with Britney. Somebody else can go ahead and claim the title of Britney’s stalker, because I sure as heck don’t want it, you know!”

Once on the property, Tozier-Robbins was immediately caught by a Spears security guard and arrested for trespassing. She received a citation and was released.

But Tozier-Robbins tells E! that she would do something like this again in the future—minus the trespassing.

A woman has been arrested for breaking into Britney Spears’ property.

Miranda Tozier-Robbins, 26, was found peering through the windows of the “Womanizer” singer’s home in Calabasas, California, dressed in camouflage fatigues and carrying a video camera and backpack yesterday morning (April 16, 2009).

When security guards discovered Tozier-Robbins they politely asked her to leave, but she reportedly “balked at their requests” and had to be physically removed from the property.
She was taken to a police station and booked on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Her bail was set at $5,000, but she was eventually released on a citation. She will appear in court on June 16.

Britney was not at the property at the time of the incident, but performed at the nearby Los Angeles Staples Center as part of her “Circus” tour last night.

Meanwhile, the mother of the backing dancer Britney is rumored to be dating has rubbished the romance.

Chase Benz’s mother Diane said: “Chase has already got a girlfriend. Her name is Tessa Campbell and she is a fantastic girl. Chase comes back to Tennessee whenever he can to see her.”

“They’ve been going out for three years – she’s the same age and they are great together. She’s so sweet.”

It has been claimed Britney and Chase – who is working as a dancer on her tour – have been romancing each other for three weeks.

It is not the first time the 27-year-old singer has fallen for one of her backing dancers.

She met ex-husband Kevin Federline when he worked for her, and went on to have two children – Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two – with him.

British criminals have threatened to kidnap troubled star Amy Winehouse, according to reports. The singer is reported to be at the centre of a plot masterminded by prisoners at London’s Pentonville Prison to kidnap the star, unless husband and fellow inmate Blake Fielder-Civil pays them a $200,000 (GBP100,000) ransom.

Fielder-Civil is currently on remand after being charged with perverting the course of justice in connection with an assault case – and now fears for his wife’s safety outside the prison, after Winehouse was photographed earlier this month (Dec07) leaving her house alone in the middle of the night.

A source tells British newspaper the News Of The World, “Blake’s petrified. He’s living in fear for Amy’s life and his own. At first he thought the guys in here were just trying their luck but the threats have got really bad. He’s now under no illusions and convinced they’ll go through with what they say. “They’ve ordered Blake to pay the 100 grand ($200,000; GBP100,000) into a secret bank account within the next few days or else… and Amy will be snatched and harmed. She’s at her weakest right now, and what with her wandering the streets in the dead of night she’s at a massive risk.”

Sanjay Dutt can breathe easy and not bother about going to jail, at least for another month.

According to the actor’s lawyer, due to technical legalities the actor who was sentenced to six years for possessing illegal arms connected to the serial blasts in 1993 can walk around a free man for an entire month. Sanjay Dutt had begun serving his jail sentence on July 31 but three weeks later the court granted him bail.

Dutt’s lawyer Karan Singh says a judgment copy which was to be served initially on Thursday is now expected only by the end of October. According to officials at the court the first few judgment copies would arrive by October 15 and if the judgment is carried out, Sanjay Dutt is expected to head back to the Yerawada Jail in Pune.

Sanjay Dutt aka Munnabhai was among the 100 accused that were found to be guilty by the courts that also sentenced several others with varying degrees of punishments.

Foxy Brown was sentenced on Friday to one year in jail for violating probation that stemmed from a fight with two manicurists in a New York City nail salon three years ago. “I’m not going to give you any more chances,” Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson told the 28-year-old rapper. “I hope you turn your life around and never again have to stand in a court of law.”

Probation Department officials asked for the hearing after Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was arrested Aug. 14 in Brooklyn on charges of assaulting Arlene Raymond, 25.

Brown was accused of hitting the woman with a cell phone on July 30 when the pair fought over the music volume from Brown’s car stereo.

Just before the hearing began, Brown, her hands shackled to a scuffed brown belt that settled on the hips of her elegant gray pantsuit, asked the judge for yet another chance at freedom and promised to straighten out her life. Jackson had jailed her Aug. 22 to await the hearing.

“I’m willing to do whatever I need to do to change,” Brown told the judge. She said she had made a lot of mistakes. “I realize that’s not where I want to be. It’s humbled me in ways I never imagined.”

The judge replied, “Ms. Marchand, it’s too little, too late. I’m glad you’re learning something; that’s a positive.”

The judge found Brown had left the state without permission; had moved her residence from Brooklyn to Mahwah, N.J., without permission; had failed to notify the department of an arrest in Mahwah; had failed to report to probation officers, and had dropped court-ordered anger management sessions with a psychologist.

Probation officials said Brown, in Florida without permission on Feb. 15, was arrested for allegedly throwing hair glue at a beauty shop employee when he asked her to leave because the shop was closing.

Brown later struggled with an officer who was called to the shop, and she was charged with battery and resisting an officer with violence, police said. Brown was released after posting a $1,500 bond. That case is pending.

Brown was on probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault of two manicurists at a Manhattan nail salon in August 2004 in a fight over how much she owed.

The one-year sentence means Brown, with time off for good behavior for her detention that began last month, will be eligible for parole in eight months.

At the start of the hearing, Probation Department lawyer Matilda Leo told the judge that Brown had been indicted Friday in Brooklyn on charges of assault, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon — the cell phone_ in the alleged assault on Raymond.

Last month, in a court appearance before Jackson after the arrest related to Raymond, defense lawyers told the judge the rapper was three months pregnant. No mention was made Friday by anyone about Brown expecting a baby.

Judge G.K. Vyas refused to hear the actor’s petition and asked it to be listed before another judge. Details of his decision were not immediately available. It was also not clear how long the process to find a new judge could take.

Vyas was one of the prosecution lawyers who fought the case on behalf of the forest and animal husbandry department of Rajasthan.

Khan, 41, was arrested on Saturday, a day after a lower court rejected his appeal against his 2006 conviction for killing endangered animals during hunting trips to the state in 1998. He has been sentenced to a five-year term.

Salman Khan is in jail but at least he has some reason to cheer. The actor’s close friend and actress Katrina Kaif flew to Jodhpur to visit him in jail.

Along with Katrina, Salman’s brother and actor Arbaaz Khan, sisters Alvera and Aprita, and sister-in-law and actress Malaika Arora Khan also visited the actor who is lodged at the Jodhpur Central Jail.

Though the jail’s visiting hours for the day had ended, the superintendent allowed Katrina and the others to meet Salman for about half an hour at around 1500 hours IST.

According to the rulebook relatives can meet prisoners only between 0900 hours IST and 1100 hours IST on Sundays.
Katrina and Arbaaz refused to speak to reporters who were waiting with hundreds of Salman’s fans at the airport in Jodhpur and headed straight for their hotel.

According to jail authorities Salman had a sleepless night on Saturday. He read a novel to pass the time but avoided any interaction with other prisoners, sources told PTI.

After a breakfast of chana and tea, Salman was examined on Sunday morning by a medical team that found him fit.
Known as Prisoner No. 343 and held in barrack number one, the actor was taken into custody and sent to jail on Saturday following dismissal of his appeal by the District and Session Judge Kamalraj Singhvi against a five-year jail term slapped upon him by the trial court in the Chinkara hunting case.

The actor may have to spend more nights in jail because his bail hearing may take place only on Wednesday, as it’s a court holiday on Tuesday.

As per the jail manual regulations, relatives and friends of a prisoner can meet him once in a fortnight.

Nicole Richie was released from jail Thursday after serving 82 minutes of a four-day sentence for driving under the influence of drugs.

The reality show star, who checked into a women’s jail at 3:15 p.m., was released at 4:37 p.m. “based on her sentence and federal guidelines,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Maribel Rizo said without elaborating.

Under a federal court mandate to manage jail overcrowding, arrestees sentenced to 30 days or less for a nonviolent offense are usually released within 12 hours, the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Under the guidelines, Richie was “treated in the same manner as other inmates with a similar sentence,” the statement said.
Richie, 25, was originally sentenced to 96 hours in jail, but that was reduced to 90 hours because of time served when she was arrested.

Richie arrived at jail with her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley and her boyfriend, Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden. Her time at the Century Regional Detention Facility was spent getting booked, including taking a mugshot and submitting her fingerprints, Holley said.
She didn’t reach her jail cell.

“She was really treated like any other inmate,” Holley said. “I think every inmate in her position, with that type of charge, would have been treated as she was.”

Richie served her 82 minutes at the county jail in suburban Lynwood, the same place her “The Simple Life” co-star Paris Hilton was housed for nearly three weeks after she was convicted of driving on a suspended license while on probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

Richie was arrested on Dec. 11, 2006, after witnesses reported seeing her black Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle headed the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank. The California Highway Patrol said they found her parked in the car pool lane.
Richie pleaded guilty in July to a misdemeanor DUI charge in a deal with prosecutors that helped her avoid a potential year in jail because it was a second driving-under-the-influence conviction.

Her first conviction was in 2003 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Richie, the daughter of Lionel Richie, told authorities after being arrested in December that she had smoked marijuana and taken the prescription painkiller Vicodin, a CHP officer said at the time. No drugs were found on her or in her car.

Bollywood star Salman Khan who faces an arrest warrant after a court rejected an appeal against his conviction in the chinkara poaching case will now appeal to the High Court to give him seven days to surrender, according to Times Now.

Salman’s lawyers will petition the High Court to grant the Bollywood star seven days to surrender. According to Times Now sources Salman will surrender only after the Raksha bandhan festival. An arrest warrant is due to be issued against Salman Khan.

Earlier, a Jodhpur court rejected the bail plea of Salman Khan in a 1998 poaching case on Friday, a verdict that would send the actor to jail.

41-year-old Khan was not present in the packed courtroom when the verdict was pronounced by District and Sessions Judge Kamal Raj Singhvi.

Khan was convicted on April 10 last year for poaching of two blackbucks at Ujiyala Bhakhar near Ghoda Farm on September 28, 1998 during the shooting of Sooraj Barjatiya’s film Hum Saath Saath Hain .

He has been sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment and slapped with a fine of Rs 25,000.

Today, the Jodhpur court rejected actor Salman Khan’s appeal in the Black Buck case and sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment. Salman was accused of poaching a Chinkara (An endangered species of Deer) on the outskirts of Jodhpur near Mathania on the night of September 27, 1998, while shooting for his film “Hum Saath Saath Hain”.

Salman Khan failed to appear during the court proceedings and a statement was issued by his lawyers that Salman had missed his flight from Hyderabad. General opinion about Salman Khan’s absence is that his lawyers are trying to buy time so that they can arrange for his bail orders from a higher court.

“Salman knew very well that his appeal would be turned down. Which is why he did not come to court. The judge said his presence or absence did not matter since it was judgement time. Now, Salman Khan will be arrested wherever he is or he could come and surrender himself,” said the lawyer of Bishnoi community Mahipal Bishnoi.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office is disinclined to charge Lindsay Lohan with three drug-related felonies, a decision that could spare the troubled actress from a prison sentence, celebrity news outlet TMZ.com reported on Tuesday.

The charges are connected with Lohan’s two recent arrests for drunken driving, first in May when she crashed her car on Beverly Hills, and then in July when she was involved in a late-night car chase in Santa Monica.

TMZ, citing unidentified law enforcement sources, said the 21-year-old actress would likely face misdemeanor drunk-driving charges for both incidents. If found guilty of both, she would serve a minimum of four days in jail, TMZ.com said.

Legal experts have said Lohan could face up to three years behind bars if confronted with the full weight of the law.

Asked about the TMZ.com report, district attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said the office has not yet received the Santa Monica case and the Beverly Hills case remains under review.

“A public discussion of potential charges prior to a case being filed would be inappropriate and potentially unethical,” she said.
Gibbons also denied TMZ.com’s report that charges could be filed on Wednesday.

After the Beverly Hills incident, cocaine was found in Lohan’s car. After the Santa Monica chase, she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, cocaine possession, bringing a controlled substance into custody and driving on a suspended license.

Lohan, who has done two rehab stints this year, has seen her promising film career plummet in recent years. Last month, she starred as stripper abducted by a sadistic killer in the box office bomb “I Know Who Killed Me.”

Foxy Brown is accused of lying to police during a traffic stop, the latest addition to the rapper’s legal woes, according to a published report.

Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was driving a sport utility vehicle on Wednesday when she was stopped for talking on a handheld cell phone and failing to stop at a stop sign, police told The Record of Bergen County.

After a check showed the SUV’s registration had been suspended, the 27-year-old rapper gave officers a variation of her real name and a date of birth that was a year off, authorities said.

When a search for the name she gave turned up no records, the officers asked her again for the information, and she gave her correct name and date of birth, authorities said.

The officers then learned that Brown’s license was suspended, and she was taken to police headquarters, where she was issued seven traffic tickets and released on her own recognizance.

She was told to appear in municipal court in Mahwah on Sept. 4.

Brown’s lawyer, John L. Sampson, did not immediately respond to requests for comment by The Associated Press on Monday night.
The traffic stop came a day after Brown was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a neighbor in New York City’s Brooklyn borough.

Police said that the two women got into a fight over the rapper blasting her car stereo and that, when they passed each other on the street a few days later, Brown hurled her BlackBerry device at the woman, cutting her lip and knocking a tooth loose.

Brown is already on probation after pleading guilty to assault in a 2004 dispute over paying for a manicure.

India’s Supreme Court on Monday granted interim bail to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been sentenced to six years imprisonment by the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.

A Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan enlarged Dutt on bail till the TADA court in Mumbai provides him with a copy of the judgment.

The Bench said immediately after getting the copy of the judgment, the Bollywood actor will have to surrender.

The court also said that Dutt will also have to appear once in a week before the nearest local police station.

After getting the copy of the judgment, Dutt can apply for regular bail.

While providing relief to Dutt, the court took into consideration that he was on bail since October 16, 1995, till July 31, 2007, the day, he was sentenced to six-year jail term.

The court said that the passport of Dutt will remain with the trial court and he will not leave the country without its permission.

The passenger in the SUV that Lindsay Lohan infamously chased before being arrested for her second DUI in as many months filed a lawsuit against the 21-year-old actress on Tuesday. According to court papers obtained, the suit alleges assault, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress by Lohan.

Tracie Rice, the passenger who placed the 911 call on the night in question, claims that Lohan chased her car on July 24 at 1 a.m., forcing the cars, at one point, to be “grill to grill.” Rice then alleges that Lohan used her headlights to blind her and drove on the wrong side of the road. She states, “I had no idea what they wanted…we were being carjacked.” She further claims that at one point, “a man got out of the SUV and ran towards our car in a threatening manner.”

The driver of Rice’s vehicle was Michelle Peck, whose daughter is Lohan’s former assistant.

Rice’s attorney Paul Hoffman told, “This incident has turned my client’s life around. She thought she was going to die that night. What Lindsay Lohan put those people through out there was outrageous conduct. They were forced into a high speed chase that could have resulted in death or serious injury not only to them, but to anyone on the street.”

There seems to be no end to Britney Spears’ hopeless ways, for the distressed pop star has invited more trouble for herself by crashing into a parked car recently.

The incident took place while she visited a Hollywood pharmacy.

Spears scraped past a Mercedes station wagon, before swinging her door open to hit the car, leaving minor scratches on both the vehicles.

Spears was not injured and her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James weren’t with her during the incident, reports the Daily Mail.
The crash comes in the wake of a series of bizarre and hell-raising behaviour by the ‘Toxic’ singer.

Recently, the 25-year-old also missed an interview with Allure magazine, after posing for the magazine’s cover.

STRIPPING FOR “NO APPARENT NEED”

It seems that Britney Spears shed her clothes for no reason during a cover shoot for Allure magazine’s September issue.

The ‘Toxic’ singer was co-operative for the shoot, but failed to turn up for the interview, missing all the four appointments.

The magazine’s editor Linda Wells said that the mum of two looked unselfconscious as she stripped down for hair and make-up, and that they did not hear from her after the photo shoot.

“She was entirely unselfconscious. She took off her wig and then stripped down to the waist, for no apparent reason, before sitting for hair and makeup,” the Sun quoted the editor, as saying

“She was agreeable and co-operative but that was the last we saw of her… she missed four appointments for an interview,” she added.

Spears will still appear in the issue’s cover page and the interview will be replaced with an article on ‘nature of celebrity’.

Actor Sanjay Dutt on Tuesday filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against his conviction by the TADA court in the Mumbai blasts case.

He has also moved an application seeking bail. “We have filed an appeal against the conviction and also have prayed for his bail,” Dutt’s counsel Satish Maneshinde said.

Dutt was given a six-year jail term in the 1993 serial blasts case by the TADA court on July 31.

Meanwhile, CBI had filed an ‘omnibus’ caveat in the Supreme Court to prevent Dutt and other Mumbai bomb blast case convicts from securing any ex parte relief.

Dutt’s appeal was delayed by a couple of days as senior advocates like Fali S Nariman and Harish Salve handling it before the apex court, wanted to make a robust case for relief, focusing on his “impeccable” track record during the 12 years he was on bail as an undertrial.
