The “Umbrella” singer – who is believed to have suffered a bloody nose, facial bruising and a split lip after Chris allegedly attacked her in his car on Sunday (February 8, 2009) – is said to have opened up to the police about the nature of her violent relationship with the 19-year-old singer.

According to gossip website TMZ, Rihanna has confirmed Sunday’s argument started when Chris – who has been charged with making criminal threats and released on $50,000 bail – received a text message from another girl.

As the row escalated Chris began hitting her. She then ordered him to drive her home before “faking” a call to a friend, during which she said things like: “He’s dropping me off. Make sure the cops are there.”

The singer claims the call make Chris even angrier, causing him to shout: “You are really f***ed up now. I’m going to kill you.”

He then began beating her with his fists.

Police are now said to be investigating whether Chris previously hurt Rihanna.

Officers are also allegedly looking into whether Chris caused Rihanna’s scratched cornea – which forced her to wear an eye patch – last year.

A police source said: “We’re investigating if her eye injury could have been caused by Brown.”

“There could be an innocent explanation – but police believe Rihanna has previously refused to make a complaint against Brown.”

“She is now being asked about her previous injuries and is beginning to open up about incidents in their relationship.”

A Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) source added: “We’re talking to her friends and management, who say she’s appeared with mysterious marks or injuries before, but always refused to explained what happened.”

Chris Brown’s cousin has spoken out in support of the star, insisting he must have been “provoked” into the alleged attack.

Phylicia Thompson said: “Chris was not brought up to beat on a woman. So it had to be something to provoke him for Chris to do it.”

“He wouldn’t have done it just to be having fun…But what happens behind closed doors, nobody ever knows.”

“He might feel down right now because his fans are looking down on him, like he’s done something wrong.”

“Of course, yes, he’s done something wrong because he put his hands on her, but like I said, you don’t know what happened.”

Amy Winehouse is desperate to go to prison so she can empathise with husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

The troubled star – who was arrested on Tuesday (18.12.07) before being released on police bail – has been spiralling out of control ever since Blake was arrested and sent to prison last month.

Now Amy is intent on being put behind bars as she believes it will bring her closer to her husband.

A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “It’s almost like she wants to get herself jailed so she can feel how Blake feels and in that way feel closer to him.

“Everyone is trying to get her to snap out of it but we worry. These past few weeks have been hard on her and we don’t want her to self-destruct. But she’s on a downward spiral.”

Amy voluntarily turned herself into Shoreditch police station, in London’s Hackney area, in connection with the investigation into her husband’s charge of perverting the course of justice.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: “A 24-year-old woman has been bailed to return to an east London police station on a date in early March pending further inquiries.”

Blake is currently being held in custody in London’s Pentonville Prison after allegedly conspiring to pervert the course of justice by bribing James King, the landlord of Macbeth’s public house in Hoxton, to withdraw his allegation of grievous bodily harm (GBH) against the 25-year-old.

He will be remanded in custody until January 18 for a plea and directions hearing.

But surely someone with the prestige and power of Jodie Foster could challenge the squeamishness about homosexuality that still prevails in America.

Perhaps, though, we should cut Jodie some slack. I don’t recall Nicole Kidman, say, having to “announce” her heterosexuality. The fact that the grand gesture of “coming out” is still a big deal just shows that most straight people still assume everybody else is heterosexual. The advantage for Jodie is that she only has to come out once. Non-celebrity lesbians and gay men have to do it every time they meet someone new.

Pop star Pink has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by a musician who claims he has not been paid for work on the singer’s 2001 album, Missundazstood.

Kyle Jones, who is known professionally as Scratch, claims he worked with the singer, real name born Alecia Moore, on the song Respect, but failed to receive payment for his contributions.

However, he admits a final fee had not been agreed on and was simply discussed with Pink.

Jones claims the song also featured on Pink’s DVD release, Live in Europe, and is seeking $717,600 in damages.

According to legal papers obtained by website TMZ.com, Pink, her company Pinks Stuff, Inc. and her record label, Zomba have all been named in the lawsuit.

Missundazstood is Pink’s most successful album to date, selling 12 million copies worldwide, 5.3 million of which was in the U.S. alone.

Supermodel Kate Moss had another spat with boyfriend Jamie Hince over her ex beau Pete Doherty.

Hince was visibly upset when Moss told him that she was considering joining Doherty’s band Babyshambles on stage, mirror.co.uk reported.

Apparently, Moss had sung with the band and even co-wrote four songs on their latest album. A friend said: ‘Kate says she dreams about doing a number with Pete and has never felt as high as when she was on stage with him. She misses it.’

Moss and Hince argued about this the whole weekend and it culminated in a public outburst at her friend Davina Taylor’s house with Moss eventually storming out.

‘Jamie is scared there will be such excitement and hype about her being reunited with Pete on stage that everyone will assume they are back together. It would be humiliating,’ the source added.

“In evaluating the circumstances of the last few days, A&E has decided to take `Dog the Bounty Hunter’ off the network’s schedule for the foreseeable future,” the network said in a statement Friday. “We hope that Mr. Chapman continues the healing process that he has begun.”

A&E officials said the series, one of the network’s top-rated programs, has not been canceled.

Chapman, 54, has been under fire and accused of being a racist ever since the private conversation with his son, Tucker Chapman, was posted online Wednesday by The National Enquirer. Chapman used the N-word repeatedly about his son’s black girlfriend.

At least two advertisers have pulled out from the show and civil rights groups have called for its cancellation. Soon after the clip was posted, Chapman issued an apology and A&E suspended production of the series.

In the conversation, Chapman urges Tucker to break up with his girlfriend. He also expresses concern about the girlfriend trying to tape and go public about the TV star’s use of the N-word. He used the slur six times in the first 45 seconds of the five-minute clip.
Chapman has said he was “disappointed in his choice of a friend, not due to her race, but her character. However, I should have never used that term.” He also said he was ashamed of himself and pledged to make amends.

His attorney, Brook Hart said his client is not a racist and vowed never to use the word again. Hart said Tucker Chapman taped the call and sold it to the Enquirer for “a lot of money.” David Perel, the Enquirer’s editor in chief, would not comment on how it obtained the tape.

Civil rights leaders said they were not satisfied with the removal of the show from A&E’s schedule. A coalition of groups in Los Angeles sent a letter to network executives Friday demanding a cancellation.

The coalition said the comments were more than racially demeaning and hurtful to black women. “They are a vicious attack on and call to end interracial relations, as well as an incitement to violence,” the letter said.

Earl Ofari Hutchinson, president of Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable, said the coalition believes Chapman’s language was much more damaging than shock jock Don Imus’ comments.

Imus was fired by CBS in April over his “nappy-headed hos” remark about the Rutgers University women’s basketball team. Citadel Broadcasting Corp. Thursday announced Imus’ return to radio in December.

“If they can essentially say, ‘We’re firing Imus in the front door and bring him in the back door later on,’ they can also do the same with this guy and his show,” Hutchinson said. “It seems like to me A&E is keeping their options open.”

The TV series follows Chapman and his tattooed crew as they track down bail jumpers in Hawaii and other states. The show also stars some members of Chapman’s family, but Tucker Chapman is not regularly featured.

During the latest taping of The Tonight Show With Jay Leno , Halle Berry, 41, showed Leno images of herself on Photo Booth, a MAC computer program that distorts images.

“She introduced the first photo by saying, ‘Here’s where I look like my Jewish cousin!’” The New York Post’s Page Six quoted an audience member as saying.

The picture showed Berry with a huge, distorted nose.

No one laughed.

Leno, The Post reported, then chimed in: “I’m glad you said that and not me.”

According to The Post Berry phoned the paper Monday “near tears,” saying, “I so didn’t mean to offend anybody – and after the show I realized it could be seen as offensive, so I asked Jay to take it out, and he did.

“What happened was I was backstage before the show and I have three girls who are Jewish who work for me. We were going through pictures to see which ones looked silly, and one of my Jewish friends said [of the picture], ‘That could be your Jewish cousin!’”

She continued, “And I guess it was fresh in my mind, and it just came out of my mouth. But I didn’t mean to offend anybody.”

Sanjay Dutt has been taken in jail once again after the court gave him a copy of the judgement on Monday.

A sombre Dutt stepped into his car on Monday morning, the laws of probability weighing heavily against him. Hours later and after a Dusshera reprieve, time finally ran out for the actor.

After being handed his copy of the 1993 Mumbai blasts case verdict, Dutt surrendered before Mumbai’s TADA court.

Naturally, the prosecution, which has pursued the case for 14 long years, isn’t happy.

It was almost a repeat of July 31, but a very different Sanjay Dutt. Last time he was completely shocked with what happened in court, but this time he seemed calmer, composed and mentally prepared for what was to come.

But it will be a long road to freedom as there will be at least a week before Dutt can even file an appeal for bail.

According to Supreme Court strictures, every convict has to send 9 copies of the judgement to the apex court, each one certified either by a court notary or sometimes the CBI.

The copies, each one 4,340 pages long have to be presented in a specific format, typed, double-spaced and margin parameters observed. All this could take a minimum 1 week.

Sanjay Dutt can apply for bail only once the copies reach the SC. And all this before the Diwali vacation begins.

Dutt, who has been sentenced to six years under the Arms Act, spent 21 days at Pune’s Yerawada Jail.

There’s only one difference this time, increased protection against an unrelenting papparazzi, who quite literally camped here in August when the actor checked in. Never mind Dutt, prying camera lenses will have a tough time catching a glimpse even of the jail’s main gate.

Sanjay Dutt started his day with a simple plea, please pray for me and prayers are what he might need. With a judgement copy of more than 4000 pages and nine copies required by the Supreme Court, Sanjay Dutt now faces the prospect of a Diwali without lights.

Britney Spears never goes out of fashion! Britney has turned herself in to Los Angeles police Monday night in connection with a pair of minor traffic offenses. Britney, wearing a black minidress, leather jacket and large designer sunglasses, spent 45 minutes being fingerprinted and photographed at a police station in the Los Angeles suburb of Van Nuys around 9 p.m. PT.

The controversial singer was booked for an August 6 incident in a Los Angeles parking lot where her car scraped up against another parked vehicle — an incident that was captured on film by some of the many paparazzi trailing her on the outing (see “Britney Spears Charged With Two Driving-Related Misdemeanors”). At the time, Britney got out of the car, looked over the damage to her car, and then walked into a nearby building, not leaving a note for the other vehicle’s owner, who filed a police report three days later.

Britney was later charged with one misdemeanor count each of hit-and-run and driving without a California driver’s license, (see “Britney Spears Now Has A Valid Driver’s License”), and is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges October 25 in Van Nuys Superior Court. Each count carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail or a $1,000 fine.

Britney Spears has been caught without her underwear once again. This is now the third time that the singer has been spotted sans panties.

On another occasion, the mum of two was seen without her bra, as she stepped out for a shopping trip in Brentwood, California. The loose fitting red shirtdress that she wore made it quite obvious that she hadn’t worn the undergarment.

A source said that singer didn’t seem quite bothered about giving a view of her bare breasts. “Britney is quite a busty lady, but didn’t care who saw her breasts. It seemed a bit much for trip down the local shops,” the Sun quoted the source, as saying.

During a custody hearing on Sep 17, former minder Tony Barretto claimed that Spears took drugs in front of her two young sons, Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James, and even walked around naked in front of them.

The shocking revelation means that the ‘Toxic’ singer could very well increase her chances of losing custody of the boys to Federline.
The bodyguard’s attorney, Los Angeles lawyer Gloria Allred, said in a press conference that Spears’ attorney chose not to cross-examine the bodyguard, who has been described as a “secret witness” against Spears in her custody battle with Federline.

Allred said Barretto was prepared to testify under oath on Monday, but neither the court nor Spears’ attorneys chose to cross-examine him. She said his declaration went “unrefuted and unchallenged.”

Barretto started working for Spears when she got out of rehab, and was fired on May 17 for failing to hear her when she told him to pick up her hat.

Barretto came forward because while working for Spears, he became “very concerned” about the safety of her two boys, according to Allred.

“Though he was reluctant to come forward and become embroiled in her custody dispute, he decided to do so because of his concern about the safety and well-being of the children,” E! Online quoted Allred, as saying.

However, Spears’ attorney, Laura Wasser, described Barretto as a “disgruntled former employee.”

Spears and Federline have had joint custody of their sons, but the latter has been fighting to gain full custody of the two boys.

CBS Corp. should not be fined for the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show that ended with Janet Jackson’s breast-baring “wardrobe malfunction” because the stunt was both fleeting and unauthorized, a lawyer for the company argued on Tuesday.
The network also accused the Federal Communications Commission of applying “mushy” and newly restrictive standards when it fined CBS $550,000 for the half-second of partial nudity.

“The FCC’s new zero-tolerance policy has already had a chilling effect on the broadcast industry, particularly with regard to television,” said Robert Corn-Revere, a CBS lawyer who asked a federal appeals court panel to overturn the fine.

Several third parties, including two former FCC chairmen who complained the agency was engaged in a Victorian crusade, filed briefs in support of CBS. The agency, though, called CBS indifferent to the risk that “a highly sexualized performance” might cross the line.

The 90 million people watching the Super Bowl, many of them children, heard Justin Timberlake sing, “Gonna have you naked by the end of this song,” as he reached for Jackson’s bustier.

The scene capped a show that featured a crotch-grabbing performance by Nelly and steamy lyrics from Jackson and others. The case is the second recent test of the federal government’s powers to regulate broadcast indecency. In June, a federal appeals court in New York invalidated the government’s policy on fleeting profanities uttered over the airwaves. The case involved remarks made by Cher and Nicole Richie on awards shows carried on Fox network stations.

In a footnote to that ruling, the 2nd Circuit noted that President Bush and Vice President Cheney have been quoted using such expletives.

FCC lawyer Eric Miller argued Tuesday that Jackson’s costume reveal, although fleeting, was graphic and explicit. Still images of the moment in question soon made their way around the Internet.

“The idea of an exception for fleeting nudity flies in the face of common sense,” Miller said.

CBS should have been forewarned, especially when Jackson’s choreographer boasted four days earlier that the show would include “some shocking moments,” he argued.

Corn-Revere said the network took many precautions, such as choosing Jackson and Timberlake over more provocative performers, reviewing the script, voicing concerns about ad-libbed remarks and applying a 5-second audio delay.

Jackson has said the decision to add a costume reveal — exposing her right breast, which had only a silver sunburst “shield” covering her nipple — came after the final rehearsal.

At the time, broadcasters didn’t employ a video delay for live events, which was remedied within a week of the game.
In challenging the fine, CBS said that “fleeting, isolated or unintended” images should not automatically be considered indecent. The agency noted it has long held that “even relatively fleeting references may be found indecent where other factors contribute to a finding of patent offensiveness.”

Miller also argued that Jackson and Timberlake were employees of CBS and that the network should have to pay for their “willful” actions, given its lack of oversight.

The 3rd Circuit judges didn’t indicate when they would rule. The $550,000 fine represents the maximum $27,500 levied against each of the network’s 20 owned-and-operated stations.

The snapper said that when the actor saw him taking his snaps, he started accusing him of being a ‘paedophile who wanted to take pics of his kids’.

“I was at a bus stop near Jude’s house but I wasn’t taking pictures of him. My camera was still in the bag. He was by himself when he recognised me and started accusing me of being a paedophile and that all I wanted to do was take pictures of his children,” Contactmusic quoted the photog, as saying.

“He then punched me in the face and started kicking me. I was shocked at his behaviour. You would expect that sort of behaviour from a yob, not from a big Hollywood actor,” he said.

A police spokesperson said that the police was called in to the spot.

A man who attempted to extort over 1 million dollars from celebrity couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for their stolen wedding photos has agreed to plead guilty.

David Hans Schmidt, who is known for brokering deals involving compromising celebrity photos and videos has been sentenced for two years in prison and charged with a fine of 124,000 pounds.

Marc Lewis Gittleman, who, according to authorities, helped recover photos from a computer hard drive, has been charged with conspiracy to commit extortion and has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Both culprits were arrested on July 26 when the federal authorities mentioned that the wedding photos of the couple in Italy were obtained from a damaged hard drive of the wedding’s official photographer, court documents show.

Before this, Schmidt also attempted to auction off Paris Hilton’s diaries, along photos of her in various stages of undress.

Britney Spears really needs to mind her hemline, for she recently left onlookers blushing when she flashed her bottom from under her miniscule dress.

And shoppers were not the only ones left red-faced, for cops went through the same emotion when the singer ran out of petrol on a main highway in LA, and they had to give her car a push to a petrol station.

“The embarrassed police pushed Britney’s car with their heads pointed firmly down,” The Sun quoted an onlooker, as saying.
“It was the only way they could avoid looking at her bottom,” the onlooker added.

Britney also managed to get a ticket by a traffic warden. However, it wasn’t for her dress.

Also with her two infant sons – Sean Preston, 23 months, and Jayden James, 11 months, as well as the hordes of paparazzi that follow her every move.

Judge G.K. Vyas refused to hear the actor’s petition and asked it to be listed before another judge. Details of his decision were not immediately available. It was also not clear how long the process to find a new judge could take.

Vyas was one of the prosecution lawyers who fought the case on behalf of the forest and animal husbandry department of Rajasthan.

Khan, 41, was arrested on Saturday, a day after a lower court rejected his appeal against his 2006 conviction for killing endangered animals during hunting trips to the state in 1998. He has been sentenced to a five-year term.

Pregnant socialite Nicole Richie was ‘pleasantly surprised’ when she was released from prison within 82 minutes of her four-day jail sentence.

Richie, who was jailed for a second DUI conviction, was booked, released and sent home Thursday at the Century Regional Facility in Lynwood, California.

Shawn Chapman Holley, Richie’s attorney, claims she was surprised by her early release and was actually prepared to serve a four-day sentence.

‘Nicole was aware that most people with sentences similar to hers are booked and released in a matter of hours and she was hoping to be treated like everyone else,’ hollywood.com quoted Holley as saying.

‘Nevertheless, she was prepared to serve her entire four-day sentence had the Sheriff’s Department required her to do so,’ he added.

It seems that Lindsay Lohan cannot give up her bad girl image, not even in rehab, for she was caught getting steamy with a male patient in one of the bathroom’s at the Cirque Lodge, Utah.

The ‘Mean Girls’ star’s dirty antic was busted after staff members heard moaning noises coming from inside a cubicle, and discovered Lohan being naughty with the male patient.

“Staff were alerted to the bathroom because there were strange noises coming from inside and two voices could be heard. When they opened the door, Lindsay was in a compromising position with the guy – who’s also at Cirque for drug rehab,” the News of the World quoted an insider, as saying.

“Rumours spread like wildfire across the place that they’d been having sex. Then staff found them they were all flustered and Lindsay’s hair was all over the shop,” the insider added.

The insider went on to say that Lindsay fought back because she was in a bad mood about being given toilet-cleaning duties.
“She was livid that she was given the miserable task of cleaning the bogs so the theory was she’d do something really dirty in there. Lindsay has been throwing tantrums like a little kid, telling everyone that she misses partying,” the insider said.

“It’s a lost cause as it’s clear that she can’t wait to get back to her normal, partying lifestyle,” the insider added.
