It’s been a rough week for the furry friends of the Simpson family after Jessica’s Daisy was snatched by a coyote and remains missing despite her efforts to contact all her neighbors.

Ashlee has other reasons to look so happy, especially considering all the support she’s getting from loved ones about her role on Melrose Place.

We caught up with the likes of Tiffani Thiessen (Saved by the Bell), Rebecca Romijn (Ugly Betty) and Dominic Monaghan (Lost) last week at the Television Critics Association press tour and snagged you a ton of dish about the new shows where you can see your old faves in just a few short weeks.

Ashlee Simpson and baby Bronx were out for yet another afternoon at class together in LA on Thursday.

Their outings are a regular occurrence these days, as Ashlee and Bronx spend lots of time as a twosome or with Jessica while Pete’s off touring with Fall Out Boy.

He’s currently in Asia, but his thoughts are with his family back in California — he even jokingly twittered about what he’d like to name their next child.

Ashlee Simpson had Bronx in her arms yesterday as they headed to a class in LA. She wore her favorite wide-legged jeans while little Bronx stayed shoeless in the heat.

They’re holding down the fort at home while Pete’s off touring, but Ashlee could spend quality time with another family member.

Her sister Jessica is apparently pretty sad about being totally blindsided by her breakup with Tony, so some sisterly bonding might be just the kind of support Jess needs right now.

Singer and actress Ashlee Simpson is the latest star said to be headed to the newly renovated “Melrose Place” according to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.

Ashlee will reportedly play a fresh faced small-town girl named Violet, who has a dark “calculating, shrewd sex kitten within,” according to the mag – which bears a striking resemblance to the show’s original good-girl-gone-bad, Sydney, played by Laura Leighton.

As for “Melrose’s” most beloved star, Heather Locklear, the actress is reportedly considering a return. “Both sides are talking,” a source told the mag. “It’s looking good.”

The former “7th Heaven” star – and possibly Locklear – will join Katie Cassidy and Michael Rady, who have already been cast in the CW show, which is slated to debut in the fall.

Ashlee Simpson has enlisted her baby son to help her get back into shape.The 24-year-old singer – who gave birth to Bronx Mowgli, her first child with husband Pete Wentz, in November – is determined to ditch her baby weight, and so has embarked on a “mommy and me” workout.

Ashlee – who has already lost half of the 30lbs she is aiming to shed – is following Jackie Keller’s 30-day Body After Baby plan, meaning she is completing low-impact exercise such as playing peek-a-bo with Bronx.

The star is also watching what she eats in an effort to shift the excess pounds, and has been feasting on Nutrifit meals and snacks which she has delivered daily.

A source explained: “Ashlee is swapping French toast and sugary syrup for multi-grain bread and berries.”

She has also cut down on her fast-food intake, choosing to eat just one slice of pizza piled high with vegetables when Pete brings home the calorific treat.

Ashlee recently leaped to the defense of her sister Jessica, who has been subjected to scathing comments after she was pictured with a seemingly fuller figure.

Ashlee wrote on her blog: “I am completely disgusted. Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy?”

“How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size two figure?”

The 24-year-old singer has defended her older sibling – who was photographed wearing unflattering high-waisted jeans at a recent Florida concert with a seemingly fuller figure – insisting the comments about Jessica’s weight are “embarrassing and belittling.”

DJ Scott Simon, who interviewed Jessica during the Florida show on Sunday (Jan 25, 2009), has dismissed claims the 28-year-old has lost her good looks.

He said: “People are saying she put on a few pounds. But she looked fabulous. Confident, healthy and happy.”

Even her former personal trainer Harley Pasternak has slammed claims that Jessica is fat, saying: “She has curves where a woman needs to have curves. She’s still sexy. She’s still a beautiful woman. And I have no problem with the way she looks.”

Jessica’s American football star boyfriend Tony Romo is also a fan of her sexy figure.

A source said: “He thinks Jess is hot no matter what. He wants to date a girl who can have a few beers, ribs, fries and dessert.”

A source said: “She’s still clinging to the hope that she can limit her total weight gain to no more than 30 to 35lbs.”

“So she is doing low-impact exercises, such as riding the stationary bike and Pilates.”

Pete, 27, said the pair would rather hang out in their Los Angeles basement, with inflatable palm trees, than spend money on an exotic holiday to celebrate their marriage – which took place last Saturday (May 17, 2008).

He said: “We’re going to save that $30,000 you know. We’ve got some blow-up palm trees, a little fake-n-bake tanning booth.”

“We’re eating DiGiorno’s pizza, getting in that tanning oven every once in a while, it’s great. It is sunny and 65 degrees in my head.”

Pete admitted the couple have a pre-nuptial agreement, but refused to confirm that Ashlee is pregnant – despite reports she confirmed the happy news to wedding guests.

The Fall Out Boy rocker also refused to comment on rumored problems between his new wife’s sister Jessica and her American football player boyfriend Tony Romo.

A spokesperson for the newlyweds said: “We are delighted to confirm that Pete and Ashlee were married in front of family and close friends.”

After tying the knot, Pete and Ashlee celebrated with an “Alice in Wonderland” themed reception party, which included a wedding cake inspired by the classic children’s book.
