Britney Sulking After Being Refused Free Handbag
Britney Spears blew off a New York fashion show when a designer refused to give her a handbag, it was claimed. Spears had her heart set on a purse from the Heatherette show, but was turned down by heiress-model Lydia Hearst.
Spears reportedly promised she would be photographed with the in-demand bag when she took her seat at the show, the New York Daily News claims. When Hearst, who designed 100 of the PUMA bags, turned down Spears’ offer the pop princess reportedly decided to miss the event. And Hearst had some sharp words for Spears.
“I’m only giving the bag to accomplished young women who are doing something positive to affect the world around them.”
“They are women I look up to and respect, like Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker and Anne Hathaway.
“They share the same high standards of giving back to the communities in which they live”
Spears’ spokesman Leslie Sloan Zelnick denied the story, saying ‘It’s not true.’
