APPLEGATE’S ON-OFF BOYFRIEND DIES

Christina Applegate is ”profoundly saddened” by the death of her on-off boyfriend Lee Grivas.

The “Samantha Who” star - who dated 26-year-old Lee at various points throughout the last two years - was not with the aspiring photographer at the time of his death, but says she is stunned by the news.

She told Us Weekly magazine: “I am profoundly saddened. Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life.”

“He is missed beyond words. He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, father, brother, and all of his family and friends.”

Grivas’ body - which showed no visible signs of trauma - was discovered in his apartment in Hollywood, California, by a neighbor on Tuesday (July 1, 2008).

While no cause of death has been officially confirmed, Los Angeles’ Department of Coroner’s Lieutenant Fred Corral suggested it may have been drug-related.

He said: “Grivas did have a history of drug abuse, and our investigator found a syringe at the scene.”

Corral went on to say a toxicology report would discover the cause of death.
